TX-22 to DeLay: Even we don't like you, you friggin' thug!
Every once in awhile it happens, a supposedly invincible Congressional Party leader goes down.

This year I think we have the chance to do it, and there couldn't be a more deserving, self serving asshole and thug: Tom "I am the government" DeLay.

Here's the numbers(from DailyKos)

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/4/28/12640/8959

Approval/Disapprovals: 44/48
Reelect:36 percent
Would Consider Someone Else:27 percent
Would Definitely Vote for Someone Else:27 percent

53 percent of respondents were pro-choice, with only 34 percent following DeLay's strict anti-choice line.

.....and it keeps getting better: DeLay's OWN redistricting scheme has made his OWN district MORE DEMOCRATIC!

Here's even more good news: Travis County DA Ronnie Earle is supposedly preparing to indict DeLay for his TRMPAC shennigans.

Add all the numbers and facts up, and here's the answer: DeLay may very well be screwed.

Richard Morrison(our candidate) seems to be a quality guy who has real concerns for his district and for America.

http://www.richardmorrisonfordistrict22.com/

If you've got any spare change lying about, send it his way, at the very least it will make DeLay squirm a little bit(a true Kodak moment).

Mr. DeLay, WE'RE COMING, YOU'RE GOING, PLEASE LET THE DOOR KICK YOU IN THE ASS ON THE WAY OUT!!!!!!!!!

2. went to a gathering of
SoCal Dean supporters early Friday morning. The good Dr. said that DFY was working on getting bug man out and Howard said he personally was going 2 campaign there in support of Morrison. The room erupted in cheers and applause.

7. If Pelosi would pull a Gingrich and turn the House races into a national
campaign, we could make inroads. She doesn't seem to be planning that. I wonder if MoveOn would have the resources, or if they are caught up only in the Bush race.

Imagine Kerry campaigning against Bush at the same time Congressional Democrats make a national plea to boot Republican Congresscritters. It would pay great dividends, so I guess no one will try it.

11. I remember yesterday somebody was asking for us to donate to Morrison.
Is this done just by going to his site and pledging? I think this is AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT CANDIDATE. Delay is a monster.

12. Sent him a letter
Unfortunatly as one of the country's millions fo unempolyed, I can't donate funds to any campaign at the moment, but I did send him a letter thanking him for his run against DeLay and wishing him the best of luck.

If any Republican is running unopposed in your area, I strongly challenge you to draft someone to run against them. Most of these guys are getting second terms because nobody is willing to run. If Mr. Morrison can run against DeLay and make so many inroads especially with DeLay's money, connections, and national exposure, we must find ourselves in a position to be able to run against and possibly defeat any one of them in office.

Two of my friends locally are running to do just that, take Republicans out of office. At least force them to spend campaign funds and weaken them in the public eye. If you can't get them out now, that next election seems stronger in our cause because of the hits they're taking now.

We need to run all of them out of office.

13. Washington Rumor...
That I have heard from press people is that Delay will probably (and certainly deserves to) be going to jail for his actions down there in the next few years.

Could anything be better than that (excepting Rove and Cheney going with him)? I'd like to see a bunch of Arab Americans, or Iraqis, treating those three in jail the way we see those (few) soldiers treating Iraqis overseas. Could you imagine the glee of seeing someone peeing on Cheney and Delay as a screensaver every morning?

I'd be in by 6.30 am sharp....seven days a week.

15. I don't believe it
Tom DeLay is just too powerful, too influential. But if there's a chance he can be defeated for reelection, that makes my day. I could almost stomach four more years of Bush in exchange for sending the devil himself back to Sugarland.

14. Many In Houston hate Delay
The Houston paper endorsed his opponent two years ago and will probably do so again. It is very likely that Delay will be indicted for violations of the Texas campaign laws on corporate contributions. I really hope that we can take him down.

17. I've got a dog in this fight
I'm the political director for the campaign of Jim Newberry For Congress - running against Roy Blunt, Majority Whip, and shoo in to be Majority Leader if/when/should Tom Delay lose/be indicted/have a really bad hair day.

The campaign of Richard Morrison needs help now. This is the moment where he can convince the big donors that his is a viable race, that they should back it, and that the message needs to take his race into account. I'll be begging for my guy soon enough - though, of course, if you want to visit and help Jim take out Delay's Siamese-Twin-Joined-At-The-Wallet we could use every dime we can get - but stop by the Morrison Campaign to day and chip in your chocolate bar money.

Of course, if you hate Tom Delay, you won't like Roy Blunt any better. His son is running against Holden for Governor. He's backing the campaign of the incumbent Republican Senator heavily. He's a thousand dollar pancake guy at K Street Breakfasts, who left his wife for a tobacco lobbyist - I won't go into the rumors of how he got there, you can dig them up yourself. His money comes from big utilities and insurance companies. He's guilty of tactics so dubious that even right wing judicial watch blew their stack about slipping in a gift for Altria aka RJ Reynolds - into the Homeland Security Bill.

To clean a house, you start at the top. We need people all over this country to say "yes, I want a Democratic House" - even if it means voting against the incumbent. This is how landslide shifts are done in the house, and the race against Delay, and the race against Blunt, is crucial to this. I promise we are going to be making national visibility to tie Delay and Blunt to the misdeeds of a congress that votes for Borrow and Squander budgets, and then doesn't even pretend to find out what Bush does with the money. In fact, I will be doing nothing else every day until the election. I can tell you the Morrison campaign is the same way.

Some in Washington have given these races up for dead. But then, they watch television, and as you know, the television election is already won for Bush. But the real election, the one on the streets of real America, is every day tilting against Borrow and Squander, War with out end, and Corporate control.

Thanks, over to you all.

18. I'd much rather see bugman hand over the gavel to a democrat...
And then loose his re-election. But unfortunately, it looks like we already passed up that opportunity in 2000. Guess we'll have to settle with outsting him.
