The RNC has posters on the conference wall of Bill and yourself
and they wish they could use in the election to put you and Bill on the shelf
Your thirst for power and your skills at triangulation
have many saying they'd never vote for you across the nation. (They'd never vote for you)

7. Is this supposed to be a rock song?

The only way to save it is to turn it into a punk rock song so no one can hear how convoluted and embarrassing the lyrics are.

And I agree with you on most points--this is strictly formal criticism.

8. I'll do a punk version eventually...

If you're a musician, maybe you get how a stripped down acoustic guitar and voice version of a song is more in the folk genre.

A punk version would probably be 3/4 faster with a DK guitar lead on the D C D F parts.

The chorus would slow down rather abruptly for comic relief and perhaps some Zappa strings and whatnot for more humor. Perhaps some doo-wop background vocals as per Frank Zappa's earlier works. The song is supposed to be funny, yet hit where I think she will be seen historically.

In terms of a video, it would be obvious to use a Monica look alike dancing to different parts and having the singer wagging his finger like Bill. Yunno....

But I think the voice and chords sound more like working out a rock song without your band than a finished folk song.

If you look to Jello Biafra as a model for how to work complicated multisyllabic political thought into a rock song, you are looking in the right place. He's pretty much the only one who could ever pull it off that comes to mind immediately. Of course, we all found out what he was saying from the lyrics sheet--the songs just rocked.
