Gergen: Press should investigate Obama. What about Clinton's tax returns?

Tonight Gergen said the press should investigate Obama. Well what about Clinton's tax returns? Three of Clinton's team (Kiki McLean, Harold Ickes and Terry McAuliffe) were asked about her tax returns and they all dodged the question and tried to make it seem like the 2007 tax year was the tax year in question. Ickes even hinted that that there will be nothing in Clinton's 2007 return. He stated that she is still working on it and asked Tucker if he had finished his tax return (referring to tax year 2007 which isn't due until April 15th of this year). I think she will release her 2007 return on April 15th and try to play the victim (I was falsely accused and there was nothing to hide).

When is the press going to pressure Clinton to release her 2006 and earlier tax returns? Oh, one of the talking heads said that it won't be an issue until the general election. Carl Bernstein said the Clinton camp is terrified about the tax returns so why isn't the so-called Anti-Clinton press pursuing this issue?

b/c every time the Clinton camp is interviewed on this issue they are given a pass. During the Debate even Russert accepted her lame excuse that they were in the process of being prepared. He should have pointed out that it was the tax returns that had ALREADY been filed that were in question.

He only stated the obvious, which is that the media is going to go through all of Wright's sermons with a fine tooth comb. If there is a patter of these types of incendiary statements, it's going to be hard to believe that Obama didn't realize how radical this guy was.
