Shame On You!
Shame on all the Faux Democrats who are cheering on the wingnut jackals, silently or openly gleeful that Faux News is trying to do what their candidate could not--defeat Barack Obama.

And to all the undies wetters who are so scared of the meanies on the right--did you think shit like this wasn't going to happen? This is what they are paid to do! It's a good thing Walter O'Malley didn't listen to people like you or we would never have a Jackie Robinson and baseball would be still be Whites Only today.

When was the last time a white politician had the media, cheered on by many in his own party, try to force him to leave his church?

My fifteen-year-old son is currently reading, "Dreams from My Father." He said to me recently that Barack had been saying the same kinds of things in 1995, before he became a politician, that he is saying today. He has been remarkably consistent in his worldview, and it is one that's very different than that of Jeremiah Wright. Yet some people here cheer on Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh like they're their new Best Fucking Friends. Maybe we should just let them choose our candidates from now on.

You want guilt by association? John McCain is closely associated with a man who lied to many people to deceive them into risking their lives. A million people have been killed for these lies of John McCain's associate.

Hillary Clinton is closely associated with, and has as part of her campaign, a person who, when told that sanctions against Iraq could result in 500,000 deaths, said, "that's acceptable."

And Hillary Clinton is closely associated with a married man who received blow jobs in the White House from another woman, then told the American people he did not have sexual relations with her, and now he might be back in the White House. You think the wingnuts are going to forget about that?

Shame on those that root for the rightwing media to destroy another Dem. Just which side of history are you on?

3. "Just which side of history are you on?"
The most vocal of the Clinton supporters were probably on Bush's side in 2000 and 2004.

I bet if they ARE registered Democrats they registered in the last 6 months.

On what planet do you live where you memorize every word spoken in the last 30 years of your pastor's ministry?

14. I totally agree. Just not in the way you might think.
You can't miss the gleeful cackling on this forum at the prospect of a full-on racist backlash against Obama. You only need look an any of the myriad "Rev. Wright is the Anti-Christ!!!" posts to find the same posters again and again rofl-ing about it.

I don't think any of these people are Democrats, or understand what true Democratic values are. They are going to be woefully disappointed when Obama comes through this just fine AND manages to erase the "Barack is a Muslim" trope at the same time.

15. No worries. Relax.
Hey, just let it roll. My view is that if Barack bats this aside or better yet uses it as an AV presentation of old politics of fear and bullshit versus the new way of getting shit done that Obama is preaching, if she can't beat him aiding and abetting the rightwing and vice versa, then it's time for Hilly to go home. Barack has a general election to wage.

24. I think Obama has a remarkable ability to turn negative attacks around and deflect them back at his
opponent. Attacks against him are effective for a few days, but they don't have a lasting impact. These will fade because most people know enough about Obama that they realize that Wright's comments are at great odds with Obama's worldview.

Geez, this is a guy that some have thought to be too nice to be elected president. Now suddenly he's a flaming America-hating revolutionary? It will work with the Foxtards who would never vote for him anyway, but Obama has built up too much goodwill with too many people to lose it over somebody else's remarks.

I think that sometime next week Obama should give a major speech on race and religion in America, making it deeply personal and honest. It could be a landmark speech that resonates throughout the nation.

27. The second part of his interview on Anderson Cooper's show was really amazing.
He talked about race and religion and generational politics. He took this GOP + the Clintons + MSM clusterfuck and turned it into an opportunity to talk more about his vision for America. Absolutely brilliant.

Hey, I wouldn't be surprised if he leaked this story to get it out there now, five weeks before Pennsylvania, and to show the superdelegates he can take on the GOP + the Clintons + the MSM + McCain with one hand tied behind his back. And then we can start throwing down about the war and torture and illegal wiretaps 'n shit. Good times.

I am happy again and starting to have a great time. This guy is amazing to watch.

Cheers.

17. You are right to bring this event up if things continue as is.
"And Hillary Clinton is closely associated with a married man who received blow jobs in the White House from another woman, then told the American people he did not have sexual relations with her, and now he might be back in the White House. You think the wingnuts are going to forget about that?"

I always tried to defend him, but my principal told me to stop it. Can you imagine. He stood up for my fellow teachers who said I was defending deviant behavior. It's like that around here where I live.

25. I want to win in Nov.
Meaning I want us dems to win. I don't support anyone tearing down our candidates. Anyone who promotes that is a troll and a tool. This Wright thing is overblown. I think all preachers are kind of nutty, but I liked Wright's preaching about social justice.

28. This non-churchgoer is always surprised to hear the more theatrical pastors with their
over-the-top rhetoric. Wright's words have been pretty well known, but seeing the theatrics on video is what makes this much stronger.

It's amazing how these white Christian pastors don't draw a whole lot of fire from the mainstream media until they get caught in bed with a twelve-year-old boy.

35. There are more like him...
Notice how the supporters who act in a respectful and principled way always stick out in GDP threads? I used to think that these kind of posters were the normal representatives of DU.
So I agree that it's a blessing to see at least from time to time posters who have no problem to put decency and common sense above partisan politics. But there are more like him. Sadly, they are just not as vocal anymore and it's a loss for DU. I wished they were because I rarely see people making their case for their candidate in a positive way. Instead, nowadays it only seems to be about disrespecting and tearing down the other candidate and his/her supporters.

31. From the OP: for those that are worried about our chances in November, the safest
choice in this race would probably not be neither Obama nor Clinton--a typical white male Dem would probably be the safest choice, whether Dodd, Biden, Edwards, Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, or Mondale. But bush/cheney have made the republican brand weaker than it has been in decades. If not now, then when? When would be a better time to nominate a black, or a woman?

Like a baby being born, history will not wait.

Most Obama supporters, like myself, spent eight years defending the Clintons from the rightwing smear machine, always arguing with the wingnuts in our midst. If Obama wins the nomination, those here opposing him now should take a good look in the mirror and decide how, twenty years from now, you want to remember your own actions during these historic times.
