My activism continues, unabated. My sword is unbloodied because I prefer to peacefully encourage people to work together. Furthermore, I refuse to remove my rose-colored glasses, because I ABSOLUTELY believe the Human Spirit will prevail!
Actually, I had hoped to see a response such as yours. I would like to encourage you to embrace this thing you are working so hard to push away. Are you defensive because you see yourself in that crowd of lemmings? What have you done to push for unity rather than divisiveness?
If we don't stop shitting on each other--both personally and politically--we will never progress. I had hoped my post would tweak the DUers who are chest-thumping for their candidate while mud-slinging at the other candidate. Just what does such behavior accomplish?
I don't think any of us want to be lemmings, but it takes far more energy and time to get beneath the media messages and the dogma that continues to relegate us to lemming status. I have hope that some DUers will read my post and wonder if they're missing something about their own or the other candidates, or about what the MSM is trying to shove down our throats. Over the last few months, most DUers seem to have swallowed the massive red herrings promulgated by Rove and the Corporate Megalomaniacs orchestrating the next election. This worries me.
Please, don't be a lemming. Look at what's happening on a macro level. Then, please be an activist for unity. Humanity needs FAR more activists and FAR fewer lemmings.
I remain hopeful, but I refuse to participate in the lemming-like behavior I've highlighted in my original post. I find such Rovian tactics digusting and puerile (that goes double for you, Jersey Devil...hopefully your lemmingness is limited to DU, as suggested by your plethora of posts).
BTW, for those who pointed out that lemmings over a cliff is a myth--thanks, but I already know that. I chose this "myth" because of its populist status--a great many of us recognize the myth and all that it implies.
