Just the other day, in the midst of the Ferraro statements, and Hillary's lukewarm attempts to belatedly distance herself from them, Rush Limbaugh used the following language to back up Ferraro's statement: "The media always wants the black quarterback to do well."
Now that statement was originally aimed at McNabb, and while it may not have registered in many Democratic and non-Pennsylvanian circles, that was a hot story for years in that area. McNabb became a sort of a symbol of affirmative action and politically correct favoritism. Many Eagles fans swore that a better (whiter) quarterback could've taken the Eagles all the way, despite McNabb taking them to the Super Bowl a few years ago.
So is Rush, who has been asking listeners to cross parties and vote for Hillary in the primaries, trying to equate Obama with Donovan McNabb for his Pennsylvanian listeners, who have been railing against McNabb and "his kind" for years? Is Hillary helping him out?
