Could you possibly NOT respond to the hate filled rants from either side?
As the trench war between the Obama camp and the Clinton camp further slips into the muddy morass, I wonder what would happen if we all just refused to respond to the hate filled DU rants from either side?

There is a pattern among a few posters to find the most incendiary comments, toss them out, and not hang around on the thread for the return fire. Yet I'm sure they look on as voyeurs, digging the attention.

I am unequivocally of the opinion that spewing a hate filled post about what you don't like about Clinton or Obama does not change one mind at this point. In fact, it only further cements an opposite reaction...adding fuel to the fire. The reaction feeds the disruptor, but it drains everyone else. These folks are nothing but energy vampires.

If Obama wins the nomination, and as I'm rooting for him I'm anticipating he will, I know we need Hillary supporters if he is to win the GE. Somewhere in the middle distance, we are going to have to heal the wounds and reunite as a party. Yet this OP refers only to DU.

Like the proverbial tree that falls in the forest; if a hate filled rant never receives a response, would anybody hear it?

peace~:)

2. "There is a pattern among a few posters ..."
It happens frequently on the Obama side.

Not suggesting any side is worse then the other.

In reality, I doubt my OP will make a microscopic dent in the negativity around here - but one never knows. It all adds up and someday again, the good will outweigh the bad and the unity will outweigh the divisiveness.

Yea, call me idealistic or even :silly:

6. Here's a better idea.
Let's all start responding to the hate filled rants from our own sides and getting them to shut the hell up.

9. I wish it was that easy...
But telling someone to STFU usually holds little punch in the vacuum of cyberspace.

I think the mods do a pretty good job of monitoring the crazy hate stuff; but there is soooooo much anger on both sides now - that we are tolerating bigger fire storms because they have become more common place.

8. I'm with you.
Instead of posting negative comments about the other candidate, let's just stick to making positive comments about the candidate we support. Don't say why the other candidate should not be elected, say why your candidate should be elected.

11. Unfortunately some of those rants are the equivalent of Swiftboating.
They need to be responded to.

Just check out all the crap one side is flinging about Obama's pastor. It's beyond disgusting.

I can't promise perfection. Sometimes my emotions get the best of me.
But I will try my best to do just what you suggest.
