If I could draw...
I would draw a picture of Hillary and Obama walking across a firing range, with John McCain and Republicans shooting at them. Clinton is hauling a HUGE collection of baggage around with her, with a gigantic target on it.

This picture, which I can't draw as a picture, but only with words, is the first reason I knew I didn't want Hillary to even run for President. I have nothing against her, mind you, nor do I have any particularly warm feelings for her.

I will say that, at this time, I do feel it is irresponsible of her to run for office based almost solely on the qualification that her husband was President and thus she "knows" the job. Do brain surgeon's wives go around claiming the ability to perform brain surgery because their husband's can? I think not. So why is this fair for Ms. Clinton to do? I would bet being President is every bit as difficult, as complicated, as pressurized, as being a brain surgeon, perhaps even more so...thus, in my opinion, being the spouse of a President, does not give one the qualifications necessary to do the job.

And then, there is the fact that the Clintons are merely so much fodder for the Republicans - there is plenty of vitriol there, which will feed into her Presidency the entire time she sits in the White House.

Do we need more Whitewater type stuff? Or more Monicas?

Even if the Republican's efforts against the Clintons came legally to nothing, ultimately their peccadilloes distracted the country and darkened Bill's last years in office, and cast a pall over the Deomcrats running for office at the time, and after. And thus, the Republicans, via their favorite target the Clintons, were instrumental in keeping another Democrat from the White House for two election cycles, and we know how well that has worked out for America.

So, Clinton supporters - rather than bashing me, why don't you instead show me how the things above, are baseless? Show me how Republicans will respect Ms. Clinton as President. Show me how they will work with her more effectively and efficiently than they will Barak. Show me how all the baggage the Clintons carry around - which I acknowledge is mostly of Republican making - will keep the Republicans in line with the wishes and needs of the country, rather than providing them with material and support for their muckracking activities against her, and ultimately, against the country?

If all you can do is throw stones at me for asking these questions, for having these fears, for looking for answers rather than just throwing stones myself, then I will find myself much more in agreement with those who say the Clintons are just Republican lite...
