Obama: "The last time I talked to Al Gore was last week"

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/13/obama-chats-with-gore/

<snip>

“The last time I talked to Al Gore was last week,” Senator Barack Obama said today, speaking to reporters as he flew from Chicago to Washington.

That morsel of information was buried near the end of a question-and-answer session. Asked if he would divulge what they talked about, Mr. Obama smiled and simply said, “No.”

It’s been awhile since Mr. Gore’s name has come up in the context of the prolonged Democratic presidential contest. While people close to the former vice president say he has been following the race closely, he has given no signals that he is willing to step into the battle between Mr. Obama and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

And how about John Edwards?

Mr. Obama said he had spoken to him “within the last two weeks.” Asked if he was expecting anything from Mr. Edwards, Mr. Obama replied, “Some good advice.”

1. Just my opinion but if it were me
I wouldn't endorse either one of them if I were Gore or Edwards. I'd stay out of it and let the two of them fight it out until we have a nominee. At this point, too much heat in this campaign.

8. I also hope that both stay out of the fray... Nothing good would come of an endorsement by either..
at this stage in the game.

10. Is Hillary not (conferring with Gore)?
That'd be an interesting contrast, were it so.

6. That would be amazing
And IMO I don't think it's that far fetched. The VP's office would make a great HQ for environmental issues.

I don't think Gore should endorse yet, but I do think he should be talking to the super delegates daily.

7. He talked to Gore last week.....now what happened last week?
I suspect Gore called him and not visa-versa.
The other question that needs to be asked is
Did Gore talk to Hillary last week?

11. Oh I would love to have Gore on the ticket as VP but I doubt
he would take that. He has already been there and done that!
