Unknowingly, Geraldine Ferraro may have given Barack a nickname that will live on after this little controversy is over? No doubt, this is the talk in many circles today, especially amongst many black citizens. Barack Obama is "lucky" because he is a black candidate.
Understandably, Barack Obama was almost speechless in addressing the comments by Geri Ferraro. Not only was he a little known African-American, but his name was Barack Hussein Obama. His last name sounds very similar to the dreaded terrorist, Osama bin Laden. His middle name is the same as the dictator in Iraq that was overthrown by Bush, the criminal. And he has the history of unsuccessful black candidates before him.
And this gives him an advantage? This makes him "lucky"? A rational person may say it is almost miraculous that he could overcome all of the above. How did he do that? Because he was a "lucky" black person. No. It was because he was very intelligent and he connected with the voters that are looking for real change. It was because he was inspiring and did not use his race as a political instrument. He did not go to the Black State of the Union in New Orleans for that very reason. He wanted to be seen as a candidate for all the people, not just black folks.
President "Lucky" Obama? :-)
