Florida submits vote by mail and in person primary for June 3.
Does that mean they get to be the deciders? Which state or territory is after them? I don't like this idea at all. But then no one cares what I think.

Florida proposes June 3 Democratic primary re-vote

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Democratic party leaders in Florida are proposing a repeat presidential primary on June 3, according to a memo they sent to national party leaders and the two Democratic presidential hopefuls.

"We have reexamined every potential alternative again. Only one stands out as fair, open, practical and feasible at this time," said the March 12 memo, distributed to party leaders late Wednesday, according to the Politico website.

"We are positive that a combination vote-by-mail and in-person election can be conducted in the time available," the memo said.

It proposed a vote held June 3 at a cost of ten to 12 million dollars, though it did not address the contentious question of who would foot the bill.

But then again, things could change after next Monday.

Court decision on March 17 could determine who Democratic nominee is.

"We have been impatiently waiting for the Appeals Court to grant us this hearing considering the fact that time is running out if we have to appeal our case to the United States Supreme Court if the Florida Delegation is still shut out of the convention in August at the same time the Supreme Court takes its annual recess" according to Mr. DiMaio.

Florida leaders are scrambling in all directions now. They realize that Tuesday, March 11, was the original primary day. They have probably been hearing about it.

There can be no good outcome from all this. I do not feel comfortable about any of it.

3. Do overs and court hearings.... no good outcomes.
There is no guarantee the elections will be done correctly or fairly, and I wonder what private companies will be used?

2. Now we know all the ugliness will drag on and on and on.
June 3 seems an eternity away. Maybe the court hearing Monday will change the picture...Florida and the courts and elections.

4. That's the same way the Jan 29th primary was handled
We had absentee ballots we could mail in or could vote in person. However, I think it would be better to include John Edwards. He was on the original ballot and he got quite a few votes.

6. Florida will share the day with Montana and South Dakota. Last primary day.
Yep, Florida can be the decider again. Unless the courts step in Monday, and they might.

7. MadFloridian, please explain what YOU would like to be the equitable outcome. I've read many of you
r posts but I'm not sure what you would prefer. Personally, I don't see what's wrong with the 6/3 re vote but I'm sure you'll point it out to me.

thanks.

9. madfloridian, I'm assuming your against re-voting
But do you not think it will effect the General Elections? I think some people wont be happy that there vote didn't count. I'm not saying everyone but I do think it will be enough to effect the outcome of florida. Here in florida democrats outnumber republicans by around a million people but then about 20% of voters are independents.
