Keith Olbermann: From Hero to Public Enemy No. 1
Just watching this play out over the past 12 hours has been fascinating.

Before 8:45pm last Keith Olbermann was a hero to the left. The only progressive voice on cable news and the go-to person for intelligent analysis.

By 8:50pm, following his brilliant Special Comment, the ugly forces orbiting Hillary Clinton began to churn and the attack bots began to transform Keith Olbermann from hero to public enemy no. 1.

The truth hurts but, Hillary's supporters can't handle the truth.

1. Do the American people really want 4-8 more years of this shit
from the Clinton machine?

I rather think not.

36. Uh, I doubt Hillary will attack Iran...
Don't like her much these days but I certainly wouldn't go that far. We still need to win, no matter who gets the nomination.

4. Not true. Some people had turned against KO a while back. Just like whom ever gets the nom...
DUers will turn against them too.

And if that DEM wins the GE, DUers will give them 100 days and then they'll turn against that person.

DU fickle as fuck.

12. And where, dare I ask, are you pulling that fifty percent figure from?
Do you have instant access to some sort of poll? Are you with Nielson?

No, you're just pulling that figure out of thin air, or worse.

Hillary's base support.

At worst, I say might lost 5%, but I think people will see it for what it is and his numbers will actually increase.

6. It's part of her appeal.
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 08:06 AM by Smelting Pot
Hillary and her campaign have been playing up the "poor, attacked woman" angle for several weeks now. Apparently her supporters have bought into it and now see attacks from every corner. It's the ugly side of solidarity - once you start down the path of substituting someone else's reality for your own, it can be hard to shift back into the "reality-based community." It is more than a little reminiscent of a certain current president and HIS supporters...

This is just them flaring up again, they've been claiming MSNBC is sexist and for Obama for weeks now. Yet they still seem to care enough about what he says to post here about it... Interesting.

9. Some of us
just don't care what any of these pundits say. It is about money, viewership and ratings. Republican owned corporations sign their paychecks. In our home, we feel like watching the trash is just like supporting Bush. DU will be very amusing when Obama wins the nomination and they all start fawning and slobbering over McCain because they are told to.

11. Perhaps in your eyes, perhaps in the eyes of die hard Hillary fans
But in the eyes of sane, rational people, Olberman is still a hero. His Special Comment last night wasn't, despite what the Hillary supporters would have people believe, a bashing of all things Clinton. Rather it was a rational, logical critique of the actions of Hillary and her campaign, and frankly came off as more of a friend leading an intervention than anything else.

Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 08:43 AM by cooolandrew
Keith wants dignity for Ameica you shouldn't sell a soul for a vote and keith never will. If dignity is unamerican then Keith wants no part of it. To endorse bush like tactics would negate everything he has ever ever said. Believe me if HRC was offering a positive vision for America he would celebrate it with all of us, it is who he is.

25. Olbermann's piece yesterday was air-tight and on target.
Across the wide board of cable news commentators, I rank him very high or near the top.

If Senator Clinton objects to the Olbermann commentary, she should address its chief points.

Just when they'd had some general idea about the subject matter, and I'm not sure where they got that information from or why they thought it was reliable (even though it ended up being so). Which is even funnier.
