I have gotten the impression that the discussion has evolved around a run-off type ballot, with only BO and HC on the ballot. This would be grossly unfair to the other states, who could legitimately argue that if there had only been two names on the ballot they would have voted differently.

I think 50/50 is the only reasonable solution for seating the delegates, because it sends the message that NO ONE BENEFITS when the rules are broken. All the parties agreed to the rules at the time. Any other solution will create a dangerous precedent.

1. Why not give all the delegates to Obama.
They seem pretty hot to disenfranchise me. I mean, why settle for a half loaf when you can steal the whole thing?

2. I presume you're from MI or FL... didn't you know at the time the delegates would not be seated?

I'm asking that out of curiosity -- what information did you have at the time, and how was the situation presented to the voters?

5. Most probably voters didn't know.
Fewer still believed that the DNC would be so stupid as to throw away 27 Electoral Votes. I still don't believe it. I just can't believe that Howard Dean is that stupid.

Btw, we had a record turnout that was in line with the increased participation of other states.

But the most important thing to remember is that the People did nothing wrong in FL. We were powerless to stop the State Legislature. Hell, ALL of my State Representatives are Republican. Fat chance they'd have listened to me. If for no other reason than a couple of them know me.

3. Good one. I agree with you.
There are those of us in other states that DO feel you guys in FL and MI are getting a raw deal, courtesy of the party bigshots. Hang in there.

6. Thanks. I really do appreciate it.
I think in the end we Floridians will get half of our delegates. That's acceptable, though still somewhat unfair, imv.

I really feel for Michiganders. They don't seem to have any real shot at being heard.

4. Good point.
Since the whole arguement was over the timing of the first primary, though, it should probably just include the reality voters are facing at the time of the do-over.

7. It HAS to be only them.. That's why a 50/50 split with NO super delegates
from either state (THEY were largely responsible for the jump that started the whole mess) would be cleaper & a lot easier

But if they MUST have a do-over...it has to be just the two of them

8. This is the only chance we have for Mike Gravel and Ron Paul to break 15%! n/t
