I'm betting that KO's commentary is resonating far beyond DU tonight....
...just a sense.

I'm wondering what different audiences are thinking about it

1. The members of the Clinton campaign themselves. I'd love to know if Terry McAuliffe saw it... or the Big Dawg.... or Howard Wolfson.... or Maggie Williams. Are they feeling any shame right now? I know Mark Penn doesn't... everything is "just business" to him. The reason he sucks at what he does is because he doesn't BELIEVE in what he does.... it's just a job to him.

2. Uncommitted superdelegates. I'm wondering if this is affecting them.

3. Party elders... Did Elizabeth and John Edwards watch? I remember them saying that they were big fans of KO. What about Big Al? President Carter? Bill Richardson? Do these people watch KO?

Maybe I'm over-stating it... but I think KO's Special Comment tonight will have more youtube hits than any other Special Comment he's ever done. I think it goes viral.

I think the reason the desperate Hillary supporters are carpet-bombing with the clips of Jeremiah Wright is because they realize the potential impact that KO had tonight.

Maybe I'm wrong.... but that's the sense I have.

3. They will ALL see it. I mean do you think anybody actually reads "The Scotsmen"?
They probably have people responsible to watch all shows and search for all articles mentioning her.

18. Not anywhere near the influence and importance...
of you. I think he's widely known and influential in media world. Otherwise, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, etc. wouldn't even react to him. I've been watching him for years, and watched him before he quit MSNBC "The Big Show" in the late '90's.

As I have said time and time again I have lurked on this site for quite a while now. I pretty much studied how things go in this forum. Whenever ones candidate is put in place or as the supporters like to say "attacked" you start seeing all kinds of crazy, desperate post, tit for tat. It's when I witness the tit for tat that I know someone has hit a nerve. I think Keith hit that nerve tonight and many people know it but don't want to admit it. They really don't need to admit it because their actions speak for themselves.

Most of the people I communicate with on message boards watched countdown tonight. Everyone was on pins and needles wondering what Keith would say and how it would turn out. Like you said I bet this special comment is going to be the most popular one to date.

our generation's Walter freaking Kronkite.

As far as I'm concerned... he is the most trusted man in the current media.

He took a PRINICPLED risk tonight... one that could cost him future viewership. That makes his words that much more powerful....they obviously weren't for his own personal benefit. He's probably getting tons of hate mail - that is hopefully offset by letters of support.

22. It WAS a principled risk...
And the Clinton's know Keith. I could feel the anguish he was going through tonight. I have NEVER seen such principled risk on live television - Edward R. Murrow was before my time.

25. Not from me
I sent one of his bosses a thank you letter for allowing KO to speak the truth, no matter who is in his crosshairs.

I suppose I should also thank Taylor Marsh for posting the email address on her blog. I'm sure she'll love that. LOL

28. LOL! Yeah, it will be in all the headlines
I am a gambling man. In fact, I want to thank the Obama backers on Intrade for manipulating a wonderfully ignorant price last week, Hillary basically even money to win Ohio.

Keith's comment isn't resonating anywhere. He forfeited that potential via the slanted portrayal of the past few months. Yankee haters screaming negatives about the Yankees doesn't resonate. It's yawn inspiring. You feel like patting them on the back and offering a pill. Keith was no different tonight. We knew what the theme would be, what the facial expressions would look like, and what the tone would sound like. He had a few variables in choice of words, and nothing particularly memorable there.

I still like the guy but I'll wade through this pompous period. Like I mentioned in the Lounge last night, I've seen it all before, dating to the '80s, his incensed tirades whenever someone knocks baseball. Olbermann never picks winners in sports but now he's found one in politics and is so stunned he's exhausting all the smug and condescending leftovers from campaigns past.
