1. Bush = Stalin

I keep reading how Bush's ideology has a number of parallels with good folks like Joseph Stalin. Problem is, I can't remember back that far - do we have any DU historians who can confirm or deny these assertions?

a totalitarian state after he was able to twist and bend the Russian Revolution to his own ends.

Hitler was a fascist (rightwing nut) and, in the 30's fascism was taking over Europe and it had a long enemies list, some of these enemies had been enemies of the Corporatists for 1300 years, some were new. "Communists", for example, were a major enemy since communism is actually an economic system which, like Liberation Theology and Social Gospel, favors the people rather than favoring our large, feudal, corporations. Corporations and corporative organizations aided and abetted the efforts of the "right" to rise (just as they do now) and they traded with Hitler throughout the war but individuals involved were never tried for treason. U.S. Corporations supported the rise of Germany with money and arms, you know, like our C.I.A., which has used our tax money and the influence of the Corporatists for decades to appoint, fund, and then rid themselves of dictators in places all over the world.

Germany was impoverished by its efforts to establish a feudal empire in WWI so Hitler was brought in from Austria to talk about a "new world order" much as the Bushes have done most recently. The only real difference is that Hitler and Ronnie Raygun were each called in their time, "Great Communicator", Bush has no chance to gain this moniker!

I must admit I have certainly been feeling doomed lately but that is the reason I have not posted much. Up and down and all around. Thank goodness for all you positives out there who eventually manage to bring me out of it. :hi: I saw your response in one thread yesterday, Paddy, about a doom twister over Topeka. I wondered how you knew? It is currently spinning out over the prairie as the sun begins to peek through again.
