is this racist?
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 07:10 PM by amborin
widespread consensus holds that Obama has gotten less harsh media scruntiny and nicer media treatment than Hillary Clinton

one reason for this is: the mostly white media are terrified of being called racist.....

it's way scarier to be called racist, than to be called sexist

so the largely white media has been bashing Hillary Clinton with near impunity, but handling Obama gently

even rethugs have think tank personnel trying to figure out the best way to shred Obama--were he to get the nomination---without appearing racist.....

so....this is all another way of saying that, to some degree, Obama is protected from typical harsh media treatment b/c he's black

now, is it racist to say that?

National Post (f/k/a The Financial Post) (Canada)

National Edition

What if Obama were white?; 'For liberal, white Baby Boom reporters, Obamamania is a way to expiate their own prejudices'

BYLINE: Ezra Levant, National Post

snip

"Obama news is an exercise in psychological therapy by white liberal reporters who want to demonstrate their own moral righteousness.

Take an "interview" three weeks ago on Good Morning America. Chris Cuomo asked Obama, "What do you think the bigger obstacle is for you in becoming president, the Clinton campaign machine or America's inherent racism?"

That's not reporting. That's not even about Obama. That's Cuomo showing how enlightened he is. Diane Sawyer asked Obama whether he thought America was "secretly … more racist or more sexist." That's what this campaign is to liberals: identity politics. Obama is nothing more than a black candidate. Hillary Clinton is nothing more than a female candidate.

For liberal, white Baby Boom reporters, Obamamania is a way to expiate their own prejudices -- and to project their guilt onto America.

They're giving Obama a free ride. Their euphoria is a form of journalistic affirmative action. And when Obama loses -- not for being black, but for being unready and ideologically extreme -- the media euphoria will turn to national self-flagellation."

10. We need to stop being focused on race & gender in this country,
especially during the election year. What a terrific time to NOT discuss these matters.

It is more noble to ignore these aspects & turn a blind eye to them in favor of the REAL IMPORTANT ISSUES!

Certainly the candidates should not be bringing it up.

One cannot easily change the color of one's skin nor their gender; so leave it alone.

WE should not allow the MSM to keep using this to sideline the productive political debate!
Contact them & tell them this. Better yet, contact their sponsors & call them out about it. Tell them you will not purchase their products. All these creeps understand is $.

This country has indeed reverted back to the 19th century. :eyes:
