A snapshot of todays threads, Hillary supporters in a huge minority.
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 12:40 PM by joshcryer
HRC, Rwanda, Samantha Powers and Monster Bullshit... (Bill Clinton's TED Rwanda discussion was voted highest in all categories)

Which is worse, calling Hillary a monster or calling Obama Ken Starr? (83% say Obama)

Poll question: Clinton supporters - will her endorsement of McCain change your GE vote? ("endorsement," hah)

"Final Rule" post tops all. Is this a turning point in the mood at DU ? (reference to Hillary bashing thread, which has more, you guessed it, Hillary bashing; to be fair the OP is defending Hillary)

As regards to HILLARY, it’s the TRUST thing stupid!!! (Hillary is untrustworthy)

I’ve Come to Hope that Obama Wraps up the Nomination as Quickly as Possible (there used to be some sentiment here about how this primary was good for us, because it made every state "matter" again)

I think Obama supporters are upset that their guy didn't think of the 3 AM phone call first (first occurance of a real Hillary supporting thread)

Wesley Clark: Obama Not Prepared To Be Commander-in-Cheif (second occurance? Amusing how many Clark supporters turned against him there!)

We've got our most inspirational and charismatic leader since JFK. Are we REALLY going to say ... (Obama = JFK)

Changing the rules mid-game (misinformed and common thread about how "Hillary is breaking the rules" when she's done no such thing)

**********This Blog is MONSTEROUSLY embarrassing************ (discussion about how hateful this forum is to Hillary)

Hillary has been to Iraq 3 times & found the scene "heartbreaking". How many times has Obama gone? (amazing another post about Hillary, a positive one at that)

TeamClinton constantly mentions the SHARED ticket because they KNOW that's ALL they can hope for. (more anti-Hillary drivel)

Hillary Clinton hasn't offered assurances on NAFTA, Canada says. (oh we saw Obama's "assuring" memo alright, it cost him Ohio; just fyi, they want NAFTA, and the Orwellian comments there are fun to witness)

Calling Hillary a Monster ‘Offensive,’ Monsters Say (cute bit of tension releasing satire, was largely ignored)

I call for the IMMEDIATE resignation of Howard Dean as DNC chairman! (yikes, the first occurance of a Hillary supporter being assinine)

If Fl and MI primary votes had benefited Barrack (simple observation anyone would make)

I'd like to thank Canada for screwing up our Democratic primary. (Obama leaning topic, saying that by one of their subordinates releasing damning information about one of our candidates is a bad thing; I thought transparency was good?)

Hillary herself makes it WORSE by reinforcing comparison of Obama to Ken Starr (meh, I'd consider it a wash all in all, they both are negative)

Hillary Clinton: Playing the victim for 16 years (hilarious portrayal of events, a fighter is a victim!)

The "monster" story just proof the BO campaign is infused with irrational hatred (wow, another irrational Hillary supporter, that time it was in a higher frequency)

Can I Get a Clothespin Here? (Hillary "supporter" "flipping" and coming out against Hillary)

Michigan 'firehouse primary' nixed by Obama camp (another interesting topic, first comment is of course Orwellian)

A little nice news for Hillary from Wyoming (wlucinda, probably again the nicest Hillary supporter on the forum, always nice topic headings and content; until the Obama supporters come in)

Why Obama must be destroyed: (yikes, no comment)

Nobel winner: Hillary Clinton's "silly" Irish peace claims - A "cheerleader" not a principle player (yeah, Hillary Clinton isn't principle in peace and whatnot, guess her UN visit to China was BS)

Kerry seeks McCain for VP ,would fit bill as running mate...June 2004 (cute Obama calling out)

Photos: Barack Obama campagning in Laramie, Wyoming. Wyoming caucuses are today, March 8th. (holy crap, the first Obama supporter who is ... reasonable?)

Should Obama be under investigation by the Ethics Committee? (nice snub against Obama, these are rare)

Mayor Bloomberg just gave 500k to the NY Senate GOP, Obama should cut him from his potential VP list (first non-candidate post after some of the more satrical posts)

3 A.M. Phone Call... (primarily Hillary mocking comics, though to be fair that's all it'd be)

Little Girl in 3am Red Phone Ad Supports Obama (lol)

Samantha Power's Resignation Statement (somewhat neutral post, but as expected inundated with Obama supporters)

Why are Bill and Hillary entitled to be in the White House for another 8 years? (ridiculous strawman, no one in this election is "entitled" to anything)

Has John McCain Met the Commander-in-Chief Threshold? (Matt Stoller, OpenLeft) (another non-candidate thread! whoa, this might be a political forum after all!)

I'll probably be banned here for good, but, here goes" (anti-Hillary with racial overtones essentially, "black boy on the ticket, get in the back of the buss"; the OP was not banned for this bit of flamebait, no surprise, they're a paying member)

Poll question: Saturday Poll: who's your pick for Democratic nominee? (Obama 82%, evidence that the split doesn't represent the US demographics)

Rasmussen daily graph for 3/8/08 - Obama up 2 (45), Clinton down 3 (46) (just a poll, expected behavior in the thread)

WHY THE CLINTONS WON'T RELEASE THEIR 2000-2006 TAX RETURNS! (must-see) (innuendo and gossip)

Hillary staffer says states that voted for Obama "sip lattes" and only care about "feelings." (more Hillary bashing, with incorrect framing)

Hillary Clinton Working Wyoming (bigtree, the only other poster on the forum with neutral thread titles)

To HRC's supporters: do the right thing and start slowly winding it down. Victory depends on you. (telling Hillary to step down, nice thread title and geniune commentary, for the most part, at least)

Gary Hart: Breaking the Final Rule (Hillary flamebait for the most part, insane thread, Hillary never "endorsed" McCain, but the spinsters will say whatever they want to win)

Florida 2nd Primary Poll - Rasmussen: Hillary 55 - Obama 39 (oh you gotta love wlucinda's thread titles)

Canadian PM says Officials only got briefing from Obama Campaign- Not Clinton! HUH? (second thread about this, it still wasn't resolved, hah)

Truth makes no difference here anymore. Anything goes. (neutral sounding thread title, but calling people liars, look at the thread titles and tell me what you think; the thread itself is misinformed and lies though, another Hillary basher)

Steve Soto: "I’ve had enough .... and I’m done with her" (Hillary basher)

Wyoming Preview: Demographic Analysis, Obama and Clinton Strongholds, and County Maps (who is this wonderful poster?!? wow, another neutral thread title)

Is there an official Wyoming caucus thread? (poor newbie got ignored, no replies; unsurprising given the level of vitrole here)

Our lovely Hillary and her Irish legacy (guess if it's a Hillary basher or not; it's not!)

Tough math on the democratic side - neither candidate has the # to secure nomination (truly uninformed opinions here, one of the few threads I participated in)

I Wish The Press Would Get It Right - It Was 12 Straight Wins...... (interesting pro-Obama spin)

Ok DUers, time to put some MISINFORMATION to REST: (fact checking by a Hillary supporter)

Mississippi preview: Obama and Clinton demographic strongholds (another surprisingly neutral post)

* * * *OFFICIAL HOWARD DEAN APPRECIATION THREAD* * * * (first lame post, #6, possibly a Hillary supporter)

Michelle Obama: "I want to rip his eyes out!" (could be said many threads here are lame, but who am I to say)

Hillary Clinton is not a monster (first time I ever saw this kind of post from this particular poster)

the swiftboating begins - rep. steve king (R-Fuckhead) (one of the few intelligent posts talking Obama strategy as opposed to how evil Hillary is)

So, Hillary Supporters (another "how do you feel about Hillary endorsing John McCain?" thread)

Just wondering. Who if any exists, can say that Obama does not have the experience, and not be sent (snarky question about "questioning Obama's experience", pro-Hillary to an extent, but more anti-Obama-fantaticism)

Why isn't Mark Penn connection with John McCain pointed out by the media? (nothing to be said)

CNN Fact Check On Hillary's Foreign Policy Experience: They Conclude, It's Minimal. (Hillary has minimal forei- wait the thread title is obvious)

Thought you all could use these today... (brownies, cute thread)

From a Die Hard CLARKIE: Why What WES CLARK says about OBAMA doesn't make any sense! (more former Clark supporters amusingly freaking out)

60 Democratic Seats in the Senate? -maybe- (wow, another neutral general political discussion, it of course got ignored)

Ohio Does Its Magic: Hillary’s 3% Exit Poll Margin Morphs to 10% in the Vote ( TIA ) (vote conspiracies)

HRC supporters here is the response by Barack... (youtube video, didn't watch, have to go)

Nobel Peace Prize , Gandhi Peace Prize, Martin Luther King Award. The only winner of all three (John Hume defends Hillary's peace keeping)

Thank you, Samantha Power. You vocalized what everyone was thinking and took one for the Team. (thanks for saying what all Obama supporters think, "Hillary is indeed a monster"; testified by this forum)

(R) Congressman: If Obama elected Al Qaida will dance in the streets. (yikes, few comments, only one recommend)

20 Years and two families- Do we really want 4 more years? (another anti-Hillary post)

It sure takes CHUTZPAH for Hillary to suggest Obama as VP-- (ditto)

Sports analogy: Hillary had a very good 3rd qrtr but Obama still has the lead going into the 4th (agree with that analogy, Obama supporter, but it was fairly made out)

MSNBC on-air, Newsweek poll: "Clinton erases Obama's national lead" (last post at this snapshot, it's about 15 minutes old or maybe a bit older because this took some time to do)

---

If I were to take this snapshot seriously, I would say there's no hope for humanity, we're all a bunch of disrespectful, rabid jerks who cannot have a decent discussion with anyone. But this is the internet. Most of you are anonymous (I am not, and I get stalked for it, but that's another matter). So you behave unlike how normal people behave. There's no hope whatsoever that anything here will change, none. And I am not asking for it. I merely disassociate from those who are like this (which is why you will only see me around on election days). In the end I just, find it amusing how people behave. On the internet.

edit: changed the title to something controversial, should be viewed now ;)

3. Fortunately GD/P isn't a representative sample of America.
If the real world were as nasty as GD/P, we'd have had an armed insurrection long ago.

4. And we're the antiwar party -- or we were, till lately
It's the bullying supporters that have colored my view of Obama. He doesn't seem to ask his supporters to be anything but personally inspired and enthused.

"Clean for Gene," and other peaceful organizing principles knew it was important to build confidence that the candidate or cause attracts good people, and maybe should be listened to.

Here, Obama's people have cleared the room.

8. I've noticed that in the candidate preference polls that show up here
Votes run about 3 to 1 for Obama. I've just started counting, so I can't say for how long there's been a heavy majority on Obama's side here in DU.

I'm curious as to whether there is a natural majority here for Obama over Hillary, or whether Hillary supports aren't participating.

10. This forum has become wearisome in its over-the-top rants.
I'm a little tired of reading hyperbolic responses like, "Eat shit, Wes," from an Obama supporter, simply because Wes Clark impugned Obama's ability to be a competent Commander in Chief.

2004 primaries were bad, but with Obama running, to paraphrase one DU'er, the Obama bus runs over anyone who dares challenge his audacity.

Keep up the constant Hillary bashing, the hate, the venom spewed at her supporters and be ready to experience a backlash in November.

16. The only reason I'm still posting is because none of these people know where I live.
Seriously, it's like watching a bad accident. You know it's ugly, but you just can't tear yourself away. There are several long time DUer's that I know to be Hillary supporters that I haven't seen posting here in several days. I think they just got tired of getting beat up on all the time. There's very little discussion about real issues, mainly feigned outrage over imagined slights to Obama.
