Bush went on vacation??????
Bush went on vacation?

He went on a monthlong vacation before 911 too.

And this administration tries to claim they keep these terrorism and war issues as high priority?

Our soldiers are over there are in intense heated battles. The least he could do is posture and pretend to care and postpone his vacation.

What a slap in the face to the soldiers. We need a leader, this position seems to be vacant.

1. Bush spent 42% of his time on vacation before 9/11
I bet the post-9/11 stats aren't much to crow about either.

A White House On the Range
Bush Retreats to Ranch For 'Working Vacation'
by Mike Allen
The Washington Post
August 7, 2001

CRAWFORD, Tex., Aug. 6 -- By the time President Bush returns to Washington on Labor Day after the longest presidential vacation in 32 years, he will have spent all or part of 54 days since the inauguration at his parched but beloved ranch. That's almost a quarter of his presidency.
Throw in four days last month at his parents' seaside estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and 38 full or partial days at the presidential retreat at Camp David, and Bush will have spent 42 percent of his presidency at vacation spots or en route.

Many of those days are weekends, and the Camp David stays have included working visits with foreign leaders. But administration officials, who initially believed that regular trips to the Texas ranch enhanced Bush's image as a rugged outsider, are acting like they may be worried about the perception that he is loafing.

Responding to criticism from Democrats and their fears of long-term damage to Bush's image, his advisers have piled on so many activities for this month-long vacation that the president is likely to feel he is marooned at an overly ambitious summer camp. The White House held a briefing today to announce that Bush had run four miles early this morning, held a 45-minute meeting with four senior officials here and talked by telephone with national security adviser Condoleezza Rice about Macedonia.

Bush will "spend a good portion of the time working," spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters today.

15. thank you, enough
I remember the figure well because it occurred to me when Bush Inc was whining about Clinton, blaming everything on him, that Bush felt comfortable enough to be on vacation 42% of the time INCLUDING THE ENTIRE MONTH OF AUGUST, right before the events of 9/11.

19. When the CIA was warning of terrorist attacks "qualitatively different"...
than anything we had seen beofre Bush was AWOL.

From Aug. 4th through Aug 30th, President Bush took one of the longest Presidential vacations in modern history. Americans could turn on their tvs to see a "tanned President Bush chatting with voters in the snack bar of a Target store, clearing hiking trails, and talking expansively about the Middle East, stem cell research and national defense." According to Bush and his advisors this was really more of a "working" vacation. Hughes was quoted in the Washington Post, "I've heard a lot of people say to me, `What is all this talk about vacation? He's giving a speech a day, always someplace different.'" (Washington Post, 8-30-2001)

See my post 9-11 and the sloam dunk case against Bush for more damming information in the 9-11 commission statements.

12. He's gonna sell that pig farm
...as soon as he's out of office, probably to the state of Texas as a site for the monument to his ego, an empty library.

Bush is a city boy, a preppie.

5. I honestly think ...
That Bush goes into RETREAT mode whenever things get tough ...

He is, at his core, a mouthy chickenshit who cannot tolerate the world not revolving around his wants and desires ... He RUNS AWAY and hides from the world ....

Typical drunk .... Crawford is his 'bottle to climb into' ...

10. Yeh he's on vacation
And he couldn't interrupt his precious "ranch" time for this:

I can't even tell you how angry that makes me. The photo of that kid is heartbreaking, knowing he will never see his father again and knowing that * is sitting on his ass in his hidey-hole when he could at least have the decency to attend this memorial (any memorial fer bob's sake!) after he sent this poor, brave kid's father to die for Halliburton.

BTW, did anybody notice that the date of that WP article was August 6, 2001?? The same date of a certain FBI memo that the Fraudministration claimed they knew nothing about??

Maybe that's why they sent the Chimp out of town?
