Young Republicans waving flip flops at Kerry rally??
Did anybody see this on CNN? They are really playing dirty. It must mean that they're getting nervous about the election.

3. What could we wave at Bush?
We should come up with some novelty item to symbolize what we think of him.

A broom works for me.

13. Unfortunately, we'll never be allowed anywhere near him.
And the mainstream media wouldn't cover a bush* protest anyway.

He's "always" supported the 9/11 Commission

He's "always" supported the Department of Homeland Security

And he's "always" been against fingerprinting Mexicans coming into the country

...Kind of like we've "always been at war with EastAsia".

12. I know Bush flip flops and everybody here knows Bush flip flops but
the important part to keep in mind is the message that these tactics gives to the uninformed public.

5. Maybe we should have a draft
Just because it would be comical to hear their bullshit excuses for getting deferments:

"I have a boil on my butt"

"I'm going to business school so I can be a job creator. Drafting me would be bad for the economy."

"Daddy gave a lot of money to the Bush campaign. Do you know who I am?"

"I'm president of my fraternity. They need me!!"

7. Kerry called them out on being RUDE REPUBLICANS
he didn't just say disrupters or something. but he specifically said republicans. i loved that. and then he went right on with his speech. he said how they don't want to hear the truth. they were in san diego also and kerry was a bit nicer by saying they shoudln't be booed since they are there and will learn something. but if they are going to disrupt things during the speech then kerry is right to call them on it.

17. Kerry can handle freepers at his rallies
but on the other side there are:
- "Free speech zones" for people whom the regime doesn't agree with so the pRresident doesn't see or hear them.
- Here in Orlando, two guys were escorted out of the hall where Bu$h was holding a rally, because it was a "private event" (they had tickets) and they were viewed as potentially disruptive.
- Students at Univ of Maryland are removed from an auditorium when they asked Lynne Cheney if she would attend the wedding of her lesbian daughter if she decided to marry. Those students are facing academic disciplinary sanctions.

I am not worried about free expression, especially when we have a candidate who can stand on his record.

18. We should buy every plastic cow plop at Spencer's Gift
Then take each cow plop and write something pertinent on it like "Where's the WMD" and "Tax Breaks for the Rich help the economy".

Just give me a stack of those to hurl in you know whose general direction!

26. Watch the video of Kerry's speech here
http://www.wcpo.com/news/2004/local/04/06/kerry.html

There's a link to part of the video on the page... you won't actually see the hecklers, but they start about 1/4 way through the video, and Kerry schools them. They start up again about 1/2 way through the vid. Kerry's obviously dealt with the flip-flops at other events.

You know, if we are going to get anywhere near Bush to heckle in the future, we have to come up with something we can wear, as the flip-flop assclowns did. Ummm, we could always heckle Bush with flip-flops, too...

Also, in this thread, galadrium provides some great first-hand info on Cincinnati rally-goers taking their flip-flops away from them!

30. This is why we need to be smart and not run those Moveon.org ads....
The Repugs are winning the PR game with their ads, all attempted light humor, we appear too serious and angry in the Moveon ads. The Flip flop is a joke the average joe six pack will relate to. We need to appeal to those voters.
