1. I still think Zogby is the most reliable pollster...
Even when his numbers are other than what I want to see... :eyes:

This is what Kerry will get when he announces either Edwards,Clark or Richardson as his VP choice. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

3. Race very close in red states! Bush 48%, Kerry 46% with 5% Undecided...
Edited on Mon Apr-05-04 01:18 PM by flpoljunkie
Hot damn! I guess the $40million Bush spent in March on ads--mostly negative--was not enough!

4. I'm hoping of a landslide, of course...
but this may get down to getting out the vote on Nov. 2

In this case, we all have to do what we can to ensure that our apathetic friends make time to vote. We should all call them ahead of time and get some kind of car-pool going.

6. Bush job approval down to 47%! Wrong track remains at 50%!
Rove will be fit to be tied with these numbers!

8. Why is the state by state analysis not this optimistic?
When broken down to the micro level, the conclusion I gather is that we have some work to do.

I pray that we don't end up with another scenario in which we win the popular vote but marginally lose the electoral college. Grr...

11. State polls are less reliable
They are ussually done by amatuer pollsters or Colleges that arent very good at it. For example there was a poll released from Michigan on Saturday that had Kerry up only one point in MI. Now yesterday ther was a poll out of MI that had Kerry up 10. They just arent reliable. Keep this in mind there has only been two people elected who did not win the national vote.

13. This numbers are awful
If Kerry was actually campaigning, instead of vacationing and napping, he should have not lost his double digit lead a few weeks back. Kerry should have been up 20 pts by now.

14. Calm down - * is taking 8 days off.
All in all, Kerry will be much more visible than * with the great mass of voters. When * does get out it will be in front of hand-picked groups - which does nothing for his visibility. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Kerry is right on track.

17. He didn't have a double digit lead.
That was one poll, the Gallup poll, which is notoriously inaccurate and used a tiny sample. On average, he had a four point lead. He is in the strongest position relative to the incumbant since Jimmy Carter so calm your ass down.

15. I've always tried to be even minded about...
...about polls. Meaning to believe them whether I liked the results or not. But my husband told me last night that he got a phone call that seemed odd. The person said it was a poll...but didn't identify themselves or ask him his name. They asked him his views on the death penalty. He said he was against it and they said "thank you...good bye". I wonder if it was a trigger question to find out which way his answers would go.

16. Though everyone is touting the recenTMason Dixon Poll
For Bush's lead in Florida, another pollster in a poll that is more recent than the Mason Dixon Poll has Kerry beating Bush in FLorida:

Bush 43%
Kerry 49%
Nader 3%
Schroth & Assoc. (
D) / Polling Co. (R) 3/3-4/04 3.5%

http://www.stpetetimes.com/2004/03/07/polls_graphics/polls-prez.shtml

THis pollster is a well known Washington D.C. pollster.

19. For heven's sake-this poll was conducted March 3 and 4!! It's not recent
Am I the only one around here who actually reads the polling info? It clearly states this was conducted March 3 and 4. It's not current at all!

18. The latest CBS polls have done a complete reversal
From the ones last week with Kerry now in the lead:

George
W. Bush 43 %

John
Kerry 48%

Other/
Depends 3%

(vol.) Won't
Vote (vol.) 1%

Don't
Know 5%
% % % % %

This is a large change from the last CBS poll from a week or so ago with Bush at 46 % and Kerry at 43 %.

http://www.pollingreport.com/wh04gen.htm

Investors Business Daily now has Kerry leading Bush as well for ths forst time since that paper has been tracking 5his campaign.
