I wonder if people are fully aware of the 7 more weeks issue & its potential impact
keeping in mind the entire primary process to date has only been about 9 weeks, if Hillary can win OH and TX tomorrow, or even if she splits, the next potential stopping point would be PA in seven weeks. Given the ferocious infighting that's been going on the past few weeks, I wonder if Obama can survive the general if Clinton decides to stay in. We're talking about an eternity here. 7 weeks to drive up negatives from within the party, those attacks stick a lot harder than when coming from the RNC or right wing hate radio.

2. 2025. Whoever gets there first wins.
That's the party rules. Why do so many people have a problem with party rules?

6. 270. Whomever gets there first wins.
Dragging this process on until May or the convention will essentially give the election to McLame.

9. You do remember that we eventually have to go up against the incumbent
party in November, right?

If all our party does is sling shit for the next 6 months -- we have lost before the confetti hits the floor of the Denver convention center.

16. Then that's a party problem, not Hillary's.
Convention will be here soon. The purpose of the convention is to choose a nominee.

There is only a 100-delegate difference between Hillary and Obama. Calling for Hillary to drop out and putting the weight of the primary on her shoulders just doesn't jamb with party procedure.

21. August isn't 'soon'
and there's a difference of 150, not 100, in pledged totals.

5. Obama will have no choice but to go negative in kind
he has been gentle to the Clintons, but that will have to end if she turns Pennsylvania into a six-week smear campaign, which is her only hope at this point.

The logic, and the potential for an ammo dump on the Clintons, is summed up nicely here:

13. I don't buy this argument.
Why don't we just conclude that Obama has torn the party apart by running against Hillary when she was way ahead in the polls? He should have never run because he has hurt the party? I think it's crazy. Hillary has the right to run for president just as much as Obama.

14. Obama can't take the pressure. His org will crack.
No frustration tolerance. None at all.

Look at TODU -- Team Obama at DU -- ONE day of bad news, and they're ready to implode.

They can NOT take the stress of even a mild electoral contest. The smallest bit of opposition makes them scream that Obama is being smeared, the Clintons are evil, etc. There will be an Obama organizational nervous breakdown before April 1st.

17. What a stupid comparison. Yeah, the DU supporters are representative of his organization. Which, by
the way, has been kicking the shit out of your candidate's ass.

18. That's a 48-45% ass-kicking, right?
It also helps when the press is in the ring, holding your opponent down on the mat.

I say kick it! Kick it good! Into shape! Go for it!

20. Actually I'd LOVE to see the convention deadlocked
Keeps the race interesting, keeps the far right machine off balance and gives other states a say.

Hillary won't be hurt by that- her negatives are already as high as they'll ever be and quite frankly, the Obama campaign still has A LOT to learn. They'll only benefit from more practice.

Then of course, there's also the matter of potential bombshells out there. Be nice if those had a chance to fall before there was a presumptive nominee- and there were still an option or two on the table.
