3. Hey, me too!
I gotta ask, which convention were you at? I got elected as a Kucinich/Universal Health Care delegate today at the Pine County convention.

I'm SOOOOOOO excited -- carrying DK's platform to the state convention in May! :bounce:

8. YEEE-HAAAW SW!!!!
I've got ours (SD60) next weekend!!! I'll be running for state, and may even try running for DFL central committee, too!!!

That's one very cool thing about the DFL-- it's quite easy for a politically concerned neophyte to get involved with the party and make a difference!

(Although I'm not really a neophyte: I went to the state conventions in 1988 and 1990, and was on the floor near the podium when Paul Wellstone made his acceptance speach. Now THAT was a powerful moment!!!)

:toast: :hi:

9. I got re-elected as first alternate to the DFL state central committee,
Our county unit is only allowed 2 delegates and 2 alternates to the SCC, and our chair and associate chair are automatically delegates, so the best I can do is be an alternate. :-( But at least it gets me in the meetings!

I'm so sorry I missed those Wellstone conventions, I was living out of state until late 1996. And the truth is, it didn't occur to me to jump in and get involved in party politics until the 2002 caucuses -- it was a totally new thing for me, even though I had faithfully voted Democrat in every election from 1972 on. I used to be one of those people who was content to leave the actual messy details of party politics, conventions and such to others -- no more!

Good luck to you! I really hope you get elected a delegate -- we'll be sure to meet up at the convention in Duluth!

7. Congrats from another DKer in MN!!!!!
You've got a good issue, too! I'm currently unemployed without healthcare, because of a pre-existing condition, and the fact that my COBRA costs over 25% of my unemployment pay.

Btw, which Senate District/County are you in? Im in SD60 (Minneapolis), and ours is next weekend. It sounds like you had a great convention.

And congrats again!!!! Hopefully I'll see you in Duluth (at the state convention)!!!

11. Your profile says Minneapolis
As nearly as I can tell, no Minneapolis Districts had conventions on Saturday. Perhaps Edina, Roseville?

Anyway, congratulations!

I'll see you in Duluth.

13. even a plank for national healthcare would suit me..
My understanding is the platform broadly proposes universal access, whatever this means!

You'll be representing most of us who voted for Kucinich, but who cannot be there.:toast:

Congratulations

18. See you in Duluth!
Minnesota for Kucinich will have a large presence at the state convention, greater than the 17% Kucinich polled statewide.
