Does it bother you that Hillary talks about reaching out to Republicans?

I am no Hillary fan, but it doesn't bother me. ALL of the candidates talk about doing this, the only difference is HOW they will do it. Lieberman "reached out" by becoming a Republican with an (I) after his name. Screw that. Obama "reached out" to create the Lugar-Obama Nonproliferation Legislation signed into law by our dumb President. That is OK by me.

Does it bother you that Hillary talks about reaching out to Republicans, and admits to doing so in the past? Why or why not?

Too many Clinton supporters like to slam Obama for saying that he will try work with the other side when Clinton has said the same thing on many occasions. Heck, she has even been working on projects with Newt Gingrich. So people should not believe this spin about how Obama is going to betray the Democratic Party by working with Republicans, because Clinton has said the same thing.

4. Ask those people if they believe McCain is going to sell out Republicans.

Because McCain talks about reaching out to Democrats all the time, and is running around the country with the former Dem VP Lieberman. I don't believe for one second that McCain is going to be anything other than a Bush 3rd term. Again EVERY CANDIDATE will talk about "reaching out" the question is, how will they do it? I don't see any evidence that Clinton or Obama are going to "sell us out" because they talk about reaching out. I think they will govern like their past indicates. If you don't like their past, well, that is another discussion. But complaining about any candidate talking about "reaching out" is silly, imo.

and he's caught hell from his own party for doing so. Some do think he as "sold out."

He ripped on the guy who smeared Cleland, and then recently hired him.
He criticized Falwell years ago, and then went out of his way to seek his blessing.
He criticized Bush and Rove for smearing him in SC, then bent over for Bush for the next 7 years.
He spoke out against torture, then voted for it to be okey dokey.
etc.

The Limbaugh types don't like McCain for small, rare things he did years ago for the most part. You notice how quickly the Limbaugh types rallied around McCain when the NYT story come out about him, right? They don't like McCain because he was 90% neo-con back in 2000. He is working his way upto 100% now.

people seem to be all in a dither because Obama speaks about reaching out to all people. I think that some here think that any voter who has ever cast a vote for a republican representative should be denounced and rejected. I have to admit there are some celebrities that have spoken out in favor of Bush and his policies that I will have a hard time forgiving for their stupidity. However there is no way out, unless there can be some kind of meeting of minds to stop the madness.

If she got up there and said "I am not going to work with Republicans, I am not going to reach out to them, I am not going to unite the country" it would appeal to about 1/3rd of the electorate, if that. Has there ever been a candidate who hasn't talked about unifying the country and working with the other party?

To answer your question, I don't know why it bothers anyone. I guess some people here just look for shit to get pissed about, especially if it involves the "other" candidate.
