Don King is throwing punches at Kerry too
Colorful US boxing promoter Don King has thrown himself into the political arena by lending his voice to a Republican Internet "game" attacking Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, the Republican National Committee announced.

2. Not all that much of a difference
between throwing fights and throwing elections.

Except you can make more money throwing an election.

5. George Bush isn't the only corrupt politician Don King supports
Edited on Sat Mar-27-04 12:15 PM by mobuto
And Don King, btw, most definitely supports Bush and has proclaimed his support at Bush fundraisers.

He also supports the strogman of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez.

And no, there is no contradiction there at all.

9. If you support free-trade or fair-trade over bilateral trade you should
support Chavez, too. Leaders like Chavez, who try to build up the salaries and lifestyles of their nation's citizens will be required to help stop the race to the bottom and keep American salaries and benefits at a decent level.

8. I don't like King
Like a lot of promoters, I think he might be a crook.

Incidentally, King also gave $2000 to Carol Moseley Braun. Last cycle, he gave to Trent Lott and Harry Reid. In what might be a coincidence, the states of Mississippi and Nevada hold a lot of King fight cards.

do a commercial for Bush. Convicted rapists and ear-biters for Bush! It would only help our side. Bush sure does attract the slime don't he?

18. Here is a little on Don King's criminal history
In Cleveland, Ohio in 1954, King shot and killed a man attempting to rob one of his gambling houses; the death was ruled a "justifiable homicide". King served time for killing a man in 1966 who allegedly owed him money, whom he beat to death. Although convicted of second degree murder, the judge reduced the conviction to nonnegligent manslaughter. King has been investigated for possible connections with organized crime. During a 1992 Senate investigation King took the Fifth Amendment when questioned about his connection to mobster John Gotti.
