1. Ok
Good for her, did he confirm why she called it a major success of the Big Dogs administration. Only way it impresses me is if she was publically bucking the Big DOg when it happened, if not who cares. Its a loser issue for her anyhow, why bother.

2. Whew...
That settles...

nothing.

Hillary said NAFTA "came out of some very fundamental ideas about what would work. The results speak for themselves. Those ideas were converted into policies programs that literally changed millions of lives and, I argue, changed America."

3. So does Lawrence Odonnel, who worked on the committee it ran through.
He says her only objection was that it came after her health care plan because they both ran through the same committee.

6. O'Donnell is an Obama shill
O'Donnell wrote an article savaging Edwards and demanding that he quit in order to make way for the coronation of the Supreme Leader. He has zero credibility. Gergen, an objective observer does and even Hillary hater Carl Bernstein confirms this and has said Hillary's views on trade are closer to Edwards' than people think. Another biographer and Mickey Kantor, the US trade rep at the time, also confirm this.

5. he has been saying this for sometime now... but people hear what they
want to hear. Obama has no different policy toward NAFTA neither voted for it---and Obama has praised it too---in the debate the other night---and i live on the border and it's done wonders for our area unfortunately at someones expense.

7. So David Gergen's opinion actually supersedes Hillary's own words:

10. He said it was because she wanted health care to go first, not for policy reasons.

13. Then this really confuses me.

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/200419870 ...

<snip>"During Clinton's 1996 visit to Texas, United Press International reported that she "touted the president's support for NAFTA." In her memoir, Clinton trumpeted her husband's "successes on the budget, the Brady bill and NAFTA." The Buffalo News reports that in 1998 she "praised corporations for mounting 'a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA.' " And last year, her lead Wall Street fundraiser told reporters that Clinton remains "committed" to NAFTA's "free" trade structure."<snip>

14. Can we get real here?
Both candidates are pretty recently "born again" on this issue. The candidacies of Kucinich and Edwards pushed them in that direction, and probably a lot of their supporters as well. Looking on the bright side--aren't you happy about this obvious evidence of the potential power of the Dem base?

16. So all her praise for it was lies, nice. just playing politics and telling lies while Americans lose
their jobs all over the country.

In some ways this is worse.

Either way she is a fatally flawed candidate and deserves to lose.
