Me. Seriously. I'm awful. I think awful shit about people all the time. Just yesterday I was walking down the street, and this big oafish guy with a mustache walked right into me. And I thought, "Fucking useless fat fucks with stupid fucking mustaches." Is that the kind of tolerance Obama wants to demonstrate? Is that the level of debate Obama wants to be associated with? I don't think so. This is deeply, deeply offensive to Chicago's considerable useless-fat-fuck-with-mustache community.

Or another day, I was in Chinatown, picking up some Winter Melon Rolls. And two people were speaking in Cantonese. And I thought, "I really don't like the sound of Cantonese. Mandarin is much prettier." Again, this is offensive for obvious reasons.

And yet:

1. Obama has accepted campaign contributions from me.
2. I have been a vocal supporter in certain channels of the media.
3. I have acted as a surrogate, and have presumed to speak for both the candidate and the campaign.
4. I have lived within several miles of him, and for a short period only blocks away.
5. I have been a member of and contributer to the same institution from which he drew a paycheck.
6. I have done campaigning on his behalf.
7. He has never distanced himself from me, to say nothing of denouncing or rejecting me.

Apparently Barack Obama is more afraid of alienating the Occam Bandage vote than he is standing up for what's right.

And actually, Adelfa Callejo (the "activist") is kind of a major leader in the Dallas Hispanic community. She's not some low-level precinct chair, she's a high-dollar lawyer that gives big bucks to the party and whose endorsement carries some weight. I haven't seen her quote on the news, but your analogy isn't entirely correct. Hillary Clinton almost certainly knows who Adelfa is, for example. :)
