Tennessee GOP issues press release claiming Obama is anti-Israel and supported by anti-Semites

<snip>

Meanwhile, Tennessee Republican officials defended a press release issued Monday that said Mr. Obama was anti-Israel and was supported by anti-Semites like Louis Farrakhan, founder of the Nation of Islam. The release uses Mr. Obama’s middle name, Hussein, and includes the widely distributed photo of Mr. Obama in native Somali garb on a trip to Africa in 2006.

Mr. Obama, responding to a question at Tuesday’s debate, rejected Mr. Farrakhan’s support and proclaimed his support for Israel.

Bill Hobbs, spokesman for the Tennessee Republican Party, said the party issued the release because “Barack Obama has surrounded himself with people who do not have the best interests of Israel at heart.” He said the party had gotten complaints from Democrats and some Republicans, but had not heard from the McCain campaign.

Mr. McCain said he could not control the activities of such groups until he was the nominee.

2. Same old tired BS
This year seems different. The nuts are so far out of line early that this will backfire. When Obama gets on stage he is nearly mesmerizing to audiences. These fuckin' flakes out there can say whatever they want but I think the general populace i willing to listen to Obama. The freaks putting this stuff out and their flocks wouldn't vote for him or any other Dem anyway.

4. Yea McCain can't control the groups now...he is a liar
McCain couldn't defend his family when Rove attacked his adopted daughter and McCain won't defend doint the right thing. This is what McCain will give the American people.

5. This Zionist Jew didn't get the memo.
I already voted for Obama and I am looking forward to doing so once again in the National Election.

The Repiggies are running scared. You can tell because their spin is looking pretty foolish by leaps and bounds.

6. Yeah, sure
The bunch that ran the "Harold Ford likes white wimmens" campaign are gen-yew-winely concerned about racism.

They called Obama's getup "Muslim" in the original release and had to issue a followup "clarification." Fuckwits.

12. Yep.. sent it to my folks,,,
They *STILL* have Gore-Lieberman button in Hebrew.

It pronounces like this:

Barak Oobamah

(although the aleph is unnecessary on his last name, just a double vav would have done the job)

9. The Tennessee GOP also issued one of those viral e-mails about Obama,
chock full of lies, in one of their official press releases a month or so ago. I only recall it because Keith Olbermann included it in his Worst Person in the World list when it happened...
