Bush jokes about WMD at dinner

Bush pokes fun at himself at dinner
CNN
Thursday, March 25, 2004 Posted: 9:53 AM EST (1453 GMT)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush poked fun at his staff, his Democratic challenger and himself Wednesday night at a black-tie dinner where he hobnobbed with the news media.

Bush put on a slide show, calling it the "White House Election-Year Album" at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association 60th annual dinner, showing himself and his staff in some decidedly unflattering poses.

There was Bush looking under furniture in a fruitless, frustrating search. "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere," he said.

There was Vice President Dick Cheney, a frequent butt of gentle Bush ribbing, holding his fingers a few inches apart. Bush said, "Whenever you ask him a question, he replies, 'Let's see what my little friend says."'

4. the Out Of Touch president
He is so far removed from common Americans, why doesn't he joke about that?

The Democratic party needs to just start calling Bush for what he is, an Out of Touch misleader who keeps American off track. Mars? Gay Marriage? Steroids?

Bu$h, Out of Touch with common America!

18. Ahhh, I had a root canal two years ago.
All that hurts is the shot of novocaine. Getting your tooth gutted feels...weird, lol, but it doesn't hurt.

"Is there any risk of brain damage?"
"Technically, the procedure IS brain damage. On par with a night of heavy drinking. Nothing you'll miss."
"Will I vomit?"

Later.

3. I think....
making fun of not finding WMDs is in poor taste....we have lost almost 600 soldiers and 3000 have life changes injuries because of the lie of WMD....Bush should rot in hell :-)

5. People actually pay big bucks for this
"entertainment" ?

I guess Cheney had plenty of time to talk to his little friend over the past three years while hiding in his bunker.

6. Sounds like an ad to me
Simply have Bush laughing about WMDs and then have someone trying to get into Dover AFB to see the body bags.

Smack these bastards hard.

7. cost of WMD
I wonder how his joking about WMDs were received by the families of the 500+ dead soldiers and the 2500+ wounded ones? I'm sure they love having their sacrifices reduced to little more than a punchline.

19. I couldn't agree more.......
There are some things you just don't joke about. This is one of them. I can't imagine the fathers and mothers of the troops that died for his fraudulant war are laughing too much these days.

He might as well have gone to a NAACP dinner and told N word jokes. Could he be any more uncouth and just plain clueless?

9. Meanwhile, four Marines from nearby Twentynine Palms
Marine Training Base were killed this week during combat in Iraq. The story was on the front page in our local newspaper; I doubt it even warranted a half dozen words in any other publication.

From my house I look out over the base, can see one of their training areas, listen to the booms of the artillery and watch the attack helicopters fly overhead on their practice missions. And get angrier and angrier at the smirking moron whose greatest pleasure is killing other people. And thinks it's funny as hell.

I so hope he's hauled up before the World Court for crimes against humanity.

in money - http://www.costofwar.com/

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

11. It is sure not a laughing matter for family members of soldiers killed or
injured in Iraq.

He is so out of touch with reality. The leader of the greatest nation on earth is a complete MORAN

13. Nancy Pelosi just said

its open season now. She said she had been planning a trip to a spy museum and when she got there she was going to have her microscope saying "where are the WMDs, where are the jobs" but she thought it wasn't the right time. But now its open-season.

12. Channel 7="Charlie" loves WMD and RumBall

Charlie( what is his last name) is on Good Morning America just glowing about Rumbum being on for an interview tonight. He was also laughing at the WMD jokes that Bush gave at the Dinner last night.

I thought he was a little more middle of the road then this, today he sounded worse than Limbaugh.

22. sadly.
sadly, I think that Bush doesn't care if there ever were WMD. That sure makes it easy to joke about it. At least those out there who catch on to this can see what a *joke* this war was to them from the beginning.
