Seriously, The Photo Scandal is a great masterpiece of undermining both campaigns. On the 1 hand you get Obama in a costume for people to "OMG!!11" over. On the other hand you get the blame put on Clinton for people to "OMG!!!" over. What a masterpiece of a hit! Both campaigns at once!

Hey Karl, good job. Seriously. This was something. Make both candidates, both campaigns, look bad. Wow.

4. I know, get both sides on the defensive, spread distrust and doubt.
Pretty wild how it happened and how many bought into it.

3. About time SOMEONE pointed that out. Good job.
I'd have done the same myself, but I'm not near as observant as you are.

And you know me, so you know there's no sarcasm here.

You do good (well?) (good well, adjective. well, adverb. Do, verb?) You do well.

6. Thats exactly what happened. I am glad you are pointing this out.
It scary how many people here just blindly swallowed what Drudge was selling.

Remember the Robert Novak incident a while back? Same damn MO.

7. Sadly and scarily true.

It seems we have an epidemic of political immaturity.

8. I've pointed this out repeatedly, that Drudge has slammed BOTH candidates
But not as an OP. Thanks for this.

So many people are suddenly taking Drudge seriously..it's mind-boggling.

12. Too true
By the same token, if a scandalous photo of Hillary was posted on Drudge and he reported the Obama campaign was responsible well...

I'd give it the same weight I give the Bat Boy stories.

13. You mean some are more apt to assume guilty without proof?
That could be, but I'm not going to get into anything along that line since, at least here on DU GD-P, there is plenty of assuming and jumping to conclusions all the way aroud.

16. I got an irate note from a very liberal friend about it,
was absolutely aghast that Hillary had done this and lost any shred of respect had had for her, etc etc etc. If people like this friend would be taken in, it was an excellent piece of nastiness. On 1 hand I agree that it should not be brought up over and over and over, but on the other hand I strongly disagree. People need to know exactly WHAT it was and WHERE it came from so that they can learn to not assume so fast, not jump to such fast conclusions, to look at who is saying what and consider the source, etc.

17. Thanks for explaining the context.
The sad thing is that its impossible to un-ring a bell. Its in peoples heads. Its served its purpose. Its done its damage.

Luckily, I do think thinking people (like your friend) can reasoned with, but for the 'others' its never going to go away.
