Obama camp criticizes Clinton for photo
...

"On the very day that Sen. Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election," said Obama campaign manager David Plouffe.

23. Read On
Read my post titled "Just Imagine". I am angry. I just got a chance to review the news of the day and this was my first exposure to this story. I think this kind of crap is dirty politics. I have no idea if you believe the Clinton lies based on gender bias or not. For accusing you of that I apologize. It was a knee jerk reaction. If you read my post later on you will see that I think this kind of behavior fits with the MO I have seen so far from the Clinton camp.

Her campaign released a formal statement and pretended not to know anything about any racists using those pictures for racist purposes. They pretended not to know the difference between Barack sporting African garb and Hillary sporting African garb. I know they're liars.

18. Just Imagine
Just simply try to imagine the outrage if this was released during the GE right before November election. We would ALL cry fowl and racism of the worst sort. DO NOT BE NAIVE. The Clinton's have played the race card all along. They tried to make him seem like a "black candidate". Bill compared him to Jesse Jackson. You would have to be naive beyond belief to not believe that this came from them.

34. Common Sense
And a track record of using race. She has motive, to win at all costs. She has opportunity, a top down machine like none other in presidential politics. She has a record, she and her surrogates have used race more than once, so clearly she is not above this kind of thing. Is there a smoking gun? Nah..But a boatload of circumstantial evidence that all points one way. Who do you think did it? Ralph Nadar?

And who leaked it to him? This could go on all night. You wanna know why people are excited about Obama? They perceive that he will be a leader who will help us get beyond these kind of prejudices. The same prejudices the Clinton's have tried to exploit in other venues. I do not hear you defending that do I?

43. Drudge is a snake.
People who play race politics are snakes. If you have a track record of hanging around with snakes, and playing the games snakes play, then you should not feign surprise that those of us who can add 2 plus 2 and get four would think the way we do. The timing of this is incredible, especially prior to the Texas primary where she is now behind. This has a Rovian feel to it.

I still have not heard you defend their obvious use of race in this campaign. I have read your posts and do respect your intellect. I cannot wait to hear your defense of their behavior as it relates to playing the race card.

49. Yeah it does feel Rovian
and the timing IS suspect.

That's why I find it so interesting that the Obama camp immediately pounced on Hillary.

Who was likely to know more about this photo op?

Who does the Drudge article hurt more?

Want my defense of the race-baiting, here goes --but you won't like it and it's classic Rove.

Rove strategy mandates that you attack a candidate on their strength.

Obama has been using Rovian tactics of painting the Clinton's as racist through this whole campaign. Apparently you have bought it hook line and sinker.

This picture was a plant by the Obama campaign --same as the 4 page memo of cherry-picked quotes of 'racist' comments.

The Clintons have always been good on race --but thanks to Rovian style slime coming from Ploufe and Axelrod, the Clintons history of being strong in their support of the AA community has been tarnished like John Kerry's war record.

That's how Rove plays.

I will cheer louder if he does. Have a nice evening.

50. Pretends?
Please enlighten me as to the meaning of this? As I have said, I do know Drudge is a snake. I have seen race politics used by the Clintons. Are they guilty by association? Maybe not in a court of law. But if you have a track record in this arena it makes it awfully easy for the average cat like me to draw this conclusion. This does not make me a pretend Democrat. I just am calling it like I see it. At the point of now creating some potential ill will I will move on.

My reason for being on here is to hope for a better America for my kids. I am in a mixed race family. I despise racism. I could tell you some amazing stories of how hurtful racism is. I do hope for a better day under a leader who can potentially help us transcend race. Am I naive to hope for this? It has been my experience that the type of people who misuse race in any way are not the kind of people I want to follow. I have seen this in this election. Many of us have. I will leave it at that. I do not wish to argue any longer.

42. Do you know anything about the Drudge report ?
Common knowledge is that Drudge is devious and not to be trusted to tell it like it is. There has been absolutely no proof shown that Clinton or her campaign is behind submiting a picture to Drudge report. Some people believe anything, especially if it something they want to believe.

Unlike Obama's campaign --Hillary's campaign doesn't make bullshit answers it can't for a fact back up.
That's why I TRUST them.

with that many staffers --sure there is a possibility. What he said absolutely was it wasn't a sanctioned act.

If Wolfson said "Nobody did it" and it turned out some asshole on the staff did do it -- then all of a sudden it's "CLINTON LIES"

Nice trap the Obama campaign wants to set up.

How do you know Ploufe didn't send it to Drudge himself?

Remember when Novak printed a bunch of bull, Obama blamed the Hillary camp who, it turned out, had nothing to do with Novak's rantings? Obama is getting played by these right wing sleaze-masters.

This was the Clinton campaign's response to the Novak incident...

"This is how Republicans work. A Republican-leaning journalist runs a blind item designed to set Democrats against one another. Experienced Democrats see this for what it is. Others get distracted and thrown off their games. Voters should be concerned about the readiness of any Democrat inexperienced enough to fall for this.http://www.talkleft.com/story/2007/11/17/162416/73
