Why Clarke's book now? Did b* expect . .
the release date to be Nov 3, the day after the election?

The media's "timing" debate is irrational?

When do you publish a book about current events?

2. The "timing" equals
Clarke's leaving the government service plus the time it took to write the book. It is not so much a "political" book as it is a warning from a patriot about some severe short-comings on the part of this administration. It fits snuggly into the catagory of books by those who are public servants and/or republicans, who are sincere and responsible, and who recognize that the bush administration poses the greatest threat to the United States in our history.

3. * appears to have been caught flatfooted
The message going out is not very well organized so far. No congress critters on board either. Surely they could find one willing to toe the * line on this one. I think they got caught with the proverbial pants around the ankles.

5. Somebody on the idiot box said is was so Clarke would have a
chance to use his testimony before the 9/11 Commission to headline his book.

I don't know if that was meant as a compliment to his intelligence or a criticism of his opportunism. Either way, it spells big trouble for the Invisible Airman.

First Clark made the charge about Bush and Iraq, then O'Neill, now Clarke. Pretty soon even the media is going to have to start telling the truth, as amazing as that might seem.

Man works on his schedule. Title "Against all enemies" refers to PROTECTING THE CONSTITUTON. Good man.
