"Shame on you Obama" comments by Hillary

What a shameful borderline-racist patronizing commentary from Clinton. Abominable.

24. Her meltdown on tee-vee today makes me think that is more less likely than likely.
We will see what the Clintons are prepared to do to secure this nomination. I don't think she will step aside gracefully and that, I agree, is a crying shame because it will impact the party negatively.

28. How about this....
She said, "Shame on you." The word "SHAME" incorporates the word "HAM," which was the name of Noah's accursed son, whom many 'Bible believers' insist was the Father of the Negro Race.

Because of an indiscretion, Ham was cursed to be the servant of his brothers for eternity. For hundreds of years, many if not most 'ordinary' Christians used this "Hamitic curse" to justify slavery.

So when Hillary used the word "shame," she was obviously trying to send the message that Obama is black, a descendent of Ham, deserving of shame, and cursed by God Himself into inferiority.

Now, if that ain't racism, neither is anything else the Clinton campaign has said or done.

33. LOL! I don't think the Clintons are racist. I do think they tried to stir
the pot a little in their favor before the SC primary, it backfired, and they won't touch THAT hot stove ever again.

Everytime someone calls Obama out on something, does NOT imply racism.

to me it had the tone of a Lady of the Manor chastizing the help. Sorry, but it was SUCH bullshit.

31. It was bullshit, but I don't see it as racist
Let's be careful about playing the race card here. We don't like it when Clinton's supporters cry sexist over everything Obama says, and I don't think we ought to call everything HRC says racist.

Whatever happened to "I'm honored to be on stage with Barack Obama"? Or was she pandering shamelessly then, too?

Not sure about the racist thing, though...can't say I saw any implications.

10. Her plan the other day failed - she wanted to make him become
negative - she couldn't do it, so now she is lying to make him look like he is attacking...think it will backfire on her big time! And, sorry, I just have to say this - I adore Ted Strickland and I also know how difficult it is to stand behind a speaker without appearing strange - but damn... just watching him during her tirade was absolutely hilarious! And, no I don't think the head bobbing was anything other than nodding in agreement with her. OMG I have watched this a few times and it is still just as funny as the first time I viewed it!

18. Obama responds to Hillary at the debate referring to her remarks as "silly" --pure sexism...
would Obama debate McCain and refer to his comments/criticisms as "silly"?

of course not, this is a sexist language pattern that Obama has demonstrated through-out!

but it is okay to reduce the words of a woman and stick your nose up to her as well!

He is a sexist and he is smug!!!!

Edited on Sat Feb-23-08 04:57 PM by quantass
Please don't cry wolf because i feel it devalues this word when there is a genuine cry of it...when i first heard what Hilary said today i didn't feel she was being racist in the least, and in fact when i saw your post i was "disappointed" that you'd bring it up because i view it differently. Hilary is NOT a racist! She is plain just upset because Obama continues to outplay her. She is growing more frustrated with her finance dwindling and no true working plan of attack against the Obama machine. I admire Hilary (at least before she began her evil negative campaigning) and don't think she deserves such a false claim that you're making.

Oh, and i am African-American (or is it: African-Canadian since Canada is part of North "America")?
