How many of you are registered independents?
I am, but I always vote democrat. For me, it's a privacy issue. My party affiliation is public record, and frankly it's none of anyone's business who I vote for.

1. Independent
For the same reason ... and because I can't register as a socialist-libertarian-progressive-populist. :)

2. Indiana is a 2-party duopoly
One must declare a "D" or a "R" when voting in the primaries, which are closed anyway. A "D" that wants to vote in the "R" primary, and vice versa, has to sign a pledge supporting the party's nominees in the general election.

3. I am too. I decided decades ago I didn't want to be labeled.
I use to vote for who I thought was the best candidate. After being fired by Reagan, I vote Democratic. The republicans are such liars, thieves, and creeps.

4. I have never declared
In Illinois you are not required to register as an independent, I have never registered with any party. I used to actually think I was independent and it can still be useful to profess this so my opinion will be judged as less biased even though I have been leaning more and more left over the last decade or so. bunnypants has pushed me almost to the socialists.

5. Florida is a "Closed Primary State"
Perhaps if it was open, I might change to NPA, or minor party.
