Alan Colmes interviews Howard Dean: Just read Colmes's questions
Gov. Dean did fine on his responses, but just read that nasty-ass wimp Colmes' questions. Anybody ever have any doubts about Fox News, and Alan Colmes, after this? As for that orc Hannity, he is Karl Rove's mouthpiece. Check his intro. All you Dean supporters (we are all now Dean supporters), have you ever seen such a crappy interview? Alan Colmes ought to be tarred and feathered.

4. I'm starting to wonder if it is written into his Fox Contract
Hmmmm...

Section 12. Clause A. Alan Colmes will display a non aggressive approach to all matters and will not help Democratic causes in any material way. He will demur to Sean Hannity in all matters and not in any way make Sean Hannity look like the loser in any verbal exchanges.

5. Not to be argumentative....

...but I think Colmes was doing the job of an interviewer. You say yourself he did fine on the answers. Wasn't Colmes setting him up to do that?

I'm not a Colmes fan, and I certainly want to avoid all visions of Hannity (I call them Inanity and Comatose) but what would you have him do? What questions would you suggest, stuff like, "So tell us how bad Bush sucks!"?

Sure Colmes is a whore, but even whores have a job to do. I don't think he was so bad.

Now Zell Miller, he's got a public trust, there's a real scum bag.

6. Huh?
"Sure Colmes is a whore, but even whores have a job to do. I don't think he was so bad."

>>>Do you actually believe what you just wrote?

So the best we should expect from people who claim to represent the Democratic side of the isle is to be decent whores?

That's pretty insulting.

I'm not excusing whoredom. I'm saying Colmes questions gave Dean a chance to make his points. I don't have any great admiration for him, but if he just gave Dean puffball questions, what would be gained.

I once saw something similar. George Will (who I never agree with) was on a panel once with all conservative questioners. He temporarily, and quite amazingly, asked questions that a liberal interviewer would ask. I thought he was doing a journalistic job. I never saw him do it again.

It's like batting practice. You want the pitchers to give you some hard stuff to hit, even though you're on the same team. That's how I see this encounter. I'm not nominating Colmes for any awards here, but I see it as a "journalist" asking some tough questions. Dean wasn't sand-bagged or blind-sided. He got to swing at some good pitches. I might be wrong but what questions do you think he should have asked?

On edit: and on reflection, did you want to be insulted? I can do better.

Most of the questions were harsh but fair, except when Colmes said,
"People might presume that you are closer to Ralph Nader, what he has espoused than what John Kerry has espoused."

What people? Why?

If Colmes presumes that, he should say, "I presume."
