Nader -- more of a demagogue than progressive
A brief rant. It irks me to see Nader coopt positive feelings among the progressive left. I prefer working progressives like Kucinich and our dearly departed Wellstone. They not only speak out, they act out: doing grunt work, casting votes, working in the trenches.

I personally dislike what Ralph Nader has become although I admire where he once came from but it seems to me that his career today is about ego and not effect. You could argue that following his run with the Green Party in 2000, there was a chance for him to go do the work and the heavy lifting required to help build a viable 3rd party infrastructure but he basically lays low and then is reenergized once the cameras are recharged.

Frankly his act of leaping from his soap box to the back of his high horse and galloping about the country yelling "the Corporatists are coming, the Corporatists are coming" every 4 years like some sort of political cicada is simply tiresome.

Okay, I feel much better.

1. Just think, if Nader wins
He'll get to be the defacto CEO of all those companies he invests in--Pfizer, Wal Mart, Viacom, etc. Since he believes in "putting the fortune 500 into public hands" (read: nationalizing),his political appointees will get to oversee, regulate, and administer the "public" businesses. Such power, president Ralph, such power!
