Just a suggestion.

1. Isn't she always screaming at rallies?
It's cringe-worthy, and the hand thing does not take the edge off. :scared:

2. They should turn her mic way up so she doesn't have to do that
And it's hurting her voice too.

4. I'm almost 100% sure that her cringe-worthy oratory is the reason for
her defeats. Even if you love her to pieces, nobody (with normal hearing) wants to listen to that for four years. :scared:

Something to consider. Hillary leads in a state BEFORE she goes to the state and starts holding rallies. Coincidence? After those rallies she takes a nose-dive.

17. Public speaking not her forte ...
she is obviously a brillian woman, and is able to charm even the staunchest opponents in the Senate (her & Lindsey Graham are big buds, and he tried to impeach her husband).

But before large audiences, she comes off as shrill. She sounds like my mom yelling at me for coming in late from a keg party back in high school. It was painful to listen to then, and it's just as irritating now.

18. She should have hired a voice coach instead of Mark Penn.
Her voice is fine when she speaks in a normal tone of voice, like during a TV interview, but when she gives a speech her voice sounds very strained and harsh. That's curable with a little coaching and practice.

20. She has enriched the old Clinton team ...
and she doesn't have a whole hell of a lot to show for it.

If you asked me 6 or 12 months ago, I would have thought she was going to crush the field and cruise to the nomination. I thought Edwards or possibly Biden might give her a run. I didn't think Obama would catch fire like he has. And of course, I realized my hero, Dennis Kucinich, probably was going to make an early exit from the race (guess I, like DK, would rather be right than popular).

How she managed to blow truckloads of cash and get upstaged by a first-term senator from Illinois is beyond me. The only winners (outside of Sen. Obama) would be HRC's staff. Overpaid and underperforming. That's the job for me! I can screw things up for 1/2 of what those bastards are charging her ...

Something like s picture fading away, fading away, they can use the same format they used on John Edwards, the one where they put you on ignore.

24. God forbid we might not be fully cognizant of our true unworthiness...
in the all-seeing eyes of the Almighty Yoof! You guys really need to come up to us and tell us this on a daily basis. Do it on the streets, on the bus, at the supermarket. Come up to us and tell us, "You're so not hot" -- "Old people suck" -- "Even though I was born 18 short years ago, and the concept of hipness first hit mass consciousness in the 1950s, rising to a peak in the 1960s, and was revived by a bunch of well-connected boomers in the 1990s, kids like me are the ultimate arbiters of the concept, and let me tell ya Grandma, You Ain't Got It."

We can't be expected to grasp all this just on the basis of dirty looks, pouts, eyerolls and general sighs of ennui respirated in our general direction.

10. Well, wait until tomorrow night's debate. You may get your wish.
Just sayin'. I wouldn't be surprised as tired as she must be if a little frustration bubbles through during the debate.

The Clintons typically blame everyone/everything else except themselves. They see Obama's rise as some sort of fluke and can't understand why the "deserving" candidate isn't ahead. Hell, not even a chance to be ahead at this point. Her skin must be crawling knowning she is less than two weeks away from finally having to admit she's been beat by the best.

19. Nothing personal, but I protest as a woman (and an Obama supporter)...
every time a thread is posted about Hillary's voice. It's difficult for a woman to project her voice, especially in a large venue, or when her voice is already strained from use.

That this jumps to the Greatest Page is unfortunate, IMO.

Again, nothing personal. You are far, far from alone, and far from the first, on our site in drawing attention to Hillary's "screaming," "yelling," and "shouting."

21. My OP had nothing to do with her voice and I was referencing the "Dean Scream"
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 02:08 AM by CreekDog
Not Hillary's scream. It was a little attempt at humor and not based on gender, but based on media coverage and what spells the end of campaigns (i.e. Dean scream --yes, I know he was losing before that, but the humiliation that followed finished him off in the eyes of the public).

:pals:
