The Last Two Debates, Will They Be Issue Oriented ?
After Obama's speech tonight I am assuming that he will be countering Hillary's and Mac's attacks of him being an "empty suit".

If you read the L.A. Times endorsement of Sen. Obama it says that he was very knowledgeable and comfortable with the issues. Clearly Sen. Clinton is also well versed and articulate when discussing issues. This is defiantly here format. I believe that he will simply "hold his own" in a discussion where he should be at a disadvantage.

If this is the case then it should effectively end Hillary's last talking point and also limit McCain's ability to attack him.

Pure speculation from a nobody. Just putting it out there.

3. I know it seems Hillary needs to go negative, She may not want to do it in that format
The California debate was a love fest. I can see it going in a similar direction IF Obama wants to try and address this "empty suit" attack.

4. Hillary can't win on the issues
There is not enough difference between them on the issues that Hillary can gain any traction on the "issues."

They are both all "yay" multi-lateral foreign policy/ boo "cowboy diplomacy" yay nationalized healthcare/yay fiscal responsibility/boo housing crash.

She needs to ugly and personal to win this. That's it; that's her only option.

6. I agree, but it isn't Barack's only option,. I think he has started his GE strategy and addressing
issues in a substantial way may be a part of it.

Again, just speculation

7. He needs to start the "Don't I look presidential" phase of his campaign now
She is going to get nasty. He needs to remain above it all while still looking like a fighter.

These next two weeks will be a good test for him.

5. Clinton Yammering About Obama Being A Black Man
and she's a defenseless white woman. BOOGA BOOGA! Bolt the doors!

Let's face it, there's not much deeper depths for the Clintons to plumb at this point.

8. im sure he'd like to cancel them
and forget this whole hillary business once and for all

i don't think he'll be able to bow out of them gracefully, so he'll go into the debates

and they will be brutal.

10. Brutal for her
I think the American public will see her losing it and him standing there looking cool, calm, and collected, and decide who the more presidential of the two is.
