edit: A reporter on Faux just said that they pulled a fast one and canceled the meeting when they were suppose to meet last week because of the media around Edwards' house, and instead met today. Obama canceled an event in Wisconsin for today.

34. Saw Obama's helicopter as it was leaving Edwards' house

Have been lurking here for quite some time, but had to join to post this inside scoop. So my gf and I were driving past the Edwards' residence early this afternoon (around 2:15 p.m.) to have lunch at a buffet out in the country. As we were within 1/4 mile of their entrance, we noticed an unmarked black helicopter rising from the forest and then head off to the east (toward the airports). At the time, we thought, "wow, wouldn't that be cool if that was Barack Obama secretly meeting with Edwards? This would be a great way to do it - come in by air, no media around whatsoever."

wow, for some reason, I find it so cool that we witnessed a part of what was going on.

What is the net result? I mean, what happens to his 26 delegates, what position might Edwards hold in an Obama administration, and is there really any residual voter effect left to harvest?

Neither Clinton, nor Obama represent what Edwards stands for. He's a breed unto his own.

One thing is certain: If Edwards does endorse, it will not cause me to think of that candidate favorably. As it stands now, both are unexciting in my opinion.

I'll just have to respect his decesion, if he makes one at all. It will not change the fact that I'm a John Edwards Democrat.
