You know ..... an unreconstructed, unapologetic, brilliant, articulate liberal.

Like Mario Cuomo.

Like another of my 'Greatly Admired'.

Like Barbara Jordan.

You know ..... a LIBERAL.

Like Jesus or Buddah .....

Don't they exist at the A-List presidential level any more?

yeah, there are some great liberals out there .... but not at the top .... or not stepping forward ...... or not 'electable'.

Fuck that.

I want a liberal.

5. The sad fact of the matter is that those who are left of center have no party...
Obama and Hillary are a reflection of the party, they aren't DINOS as some people claim. People have a mistaken impression that the Democratic party is Liberal, or to the left, but the reality is that they are Center-Right, and no more than that.

15. You're so correct.
I wish we had a truly leftist party in this country. One with real power. Or that the Dems truly were left of center. That would work, too.

In the meantime, I've thrown my support to Obama because I can't stand the thought of the Clintons back in the white house. But I'm under no illusions that he is truly progressive. I had planned to vote for Kucinich, but he dropped out.

Why can't this country elect someone like Dennis Kucinich? Polls indicate that the majority of Americans hold views more consistent with his than with any of the mainstream, "viable" candidates. So why won't they vote for him? If people voted for candidates like him who truly represent their views, the Democratic party really would be left of center.

7. I want a candidate that would make the powers that be in this country
wake up in a cold sweat at night. I want a candidate that literally makes conservatives stroke out of fear and anger of rolling back their reign of terror at a minimum of Reagan to today. I want a candidate that makes Poppy want to call in one last marker from his friends, someone who will lay bare republican camelot, Iran-Contra, 9/11, JFK, RFK, MLK, etc..........for all the world to see.

8. I'd settle for one who pledged to prosecute war criminals at the highest level of our government.
But I agree with you.

10. Yeah, a good house-cleaning would be a great way to start.
Amazing we don't recognize the World Court. There's more than a few people in D.C. who should be sent there in jumpsuits.

12. Well, I think we've been around the block on this one already
They're out there - they just don't have the magic 'D' next to them sometimes.

As Kucinich said when asked about his 'electability' - "well, I can win if you'll vote for me."

Simple as that.

One small step. :)

P.S. You know they can't exist at the A-List presidential level - by that time they've been so compromised and are in the pockets of so many corporate hacks that they don't sneeze without making sure GE has a ti$$ue.
