Doing something creative to defeat Bush?
Ok DU'ers show your stuff!

Doing something creative to defeat Bush? Looking for something creative to get involved with? Go to:

www.DraftWesleyClark.com

From the Clark bar to the "draft" toasts, to the homemade signs, the draft Clark community has always shown itself to an incredibly creative, innovative bunch. Well, the draft is over, and we'll be winding down this site soon, but we need that creativity to continue. And we're sure there are tons of you out there already doing great, creative stuff. And so... if you've got a creative way to defeat Bush -- one that is active and already making an impact -- it's time to share it at:

www.DraftWesleyClark.com

We'll post the most creative, most effective methods on the site for the rest of the draft Clark community (and anyone else) to see. The only rule: we are looking for things already in progress, things people can get involved with right now -- not just ideas or brainstorms.

Don't be shy -- be shameless. Time is short, so if you've got something good underway, share it now! Here are two activities we know of already (one very close to my own heart!):

1) ActForLove.org: Personals for Activists

Founded by DraftWesleyClark.com leader John Hlinko (aka, "me"), ActForLove.org is an online dating site geared towards activists. With a slogan of "Take Action, Get Action," the site aims not only to spur "love connections," but also to raise money and awareness for good, progressive causes (particularly those using creative grassroots methods). Check it out:

www.ActForLove.org

2) "Run Against Bush"

Founded with the help of Clark DC/NH veteran Richard Khoe, Run Against Bush is a group that gets together to get into shape -- and help defeat Dubya in the process. The group meets in DC each week to "run circles around the White House." Check it out:

www.runagainstbush.org

3) Your Idea

Are you doing something creative? Tell us about it! Go to www.DraftWesleyClark.com, tell us about it, and we'll post the best ideas on the site for others to see.

Again, the caveat: we're just looking for activities already in progress -- ones that other draft veterans can get involved with or spread the word about right now. Ideas are great... brainstorming is great... but it's ACTION we're looking to spotlight here!

Respectfully,

John Hlinko

Maybe you can add this - it's not a flip-flop more of a flop.

'The administration had scheduled a news conference for Thursday to announce its selection for the job of assistant commerce secretary for manufacturing. Bush last September had announced the position to coordinate the administration's efforts to bolster the country's beleaguered manufacturing sector.

However, the planned news conference was scrapped after Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate, and other Democrats raised questions about Raimondo's stance on shifting U.S. jobs to foreign countries, a hot political issue given the loss of 3 million manufacturing jobs since mid-2000.

But the administration said Raimondo's withdrawal was not connected to Kerry's criticism.'

3. Maybe if the name of the site were changed it would be more effective
I have nothing against Clark but it seems counterproductive to try to encourage people to contribute to a "draft Clark" site. Maybe something along the line of an anti-bush or a pro Kerry site would be more productive at this juncture.

4. I thought of that too
when I received it in email. Just excited by the prospect of people getting involved and keeping up their enthusiasm.
