McCain Says FEC Is Not Enforcing Law

snip...........

The rules committee hearing was an examination of the most controversial issue now before the FEC: the possible issuance of new regulations to govern non-party political organizations spending large, unregulated "soft money" contributions to defeat or support federal candidates.

McCain and other leading campaign watchdog advocates are seeking to strictly regulate these soft-money organizations. In addition, McCain and his allies are seeking to replace the FEC altogether with an agency that they contend would be less subject to political pressures when making key regulatory decisions.

McCain is one of the people trying to shut down groups like Moveon.org. Like him now?

McCain is a lap dog for the Bush administration. I lost respect for McCain a long time ago.

9. indeed...
the real question is how seriously is McCain being considered?

Many say that McCain was new at politics, had little involvement and didn't know what the others had started was illegal. But who ever listens to the find points of a scandal?

This Keating Five is what moved McCain to cosponsor McCain-Feingold, and ever since he has been the outsider in his own party.

Appreciate that he fought for our country, but that's it. Wouldn't vote for him for dog catcher.

3. Why give right wingers an incentive to take out Kerry?
Switching from Dem to Republicans would be a bullet away. It would be MAD!

...in Congress for Dem seats if McCain came out aggressively and exposed just what kind of thugs that Delay, Frist, and their kind really are? Any idea?

12. Shouldn't reply but thanks for the post. There's even more about McCain
that could be posted which casts him in a very different light than supporters of him on the Dem Ticket would have one believe.

This is a good start. But, since McCain has said NO! according to his spokesperson, it would seem that this was put out for purposes that were political to disturb the RW, but unfortunately has some of us  this a.m.

One would think that Kerry supporters could subdue some of this if it's just Kerry being Politically clever rather than causing a big disturbance on the Left of the Dem Party so that they want to jump ship.

Are a few Repug crossovers worth losing the left flank of the party where he needs the enthusiasm and energy to turn out the vote in November. I don't think the "armchair Dems," are going to get off their duffs in November if the Media Hypes Polls saying Kerry will win in a Landslide. They will be complacent. It's us who know the Repug dirty tricks who will have to be the ones to get their butt out the door.

If our energy gets lost, because people like Will and others say DU'ers aren't in touch with the reality of Dems out there in America we could end up with another Election 2000.

I hope Kerry's folks will understand that at some point. Particularly his vocal supporters on this site.

Shows how far DU has "drifted" right, also.

Starting to feel like there's no place left for those of us who are still DEM.

how Kerry would even toss the idea around. There is such a good selection of Democrats from the field to pick and to think of McCain for a second is a slap in the face of Democrats.

21. I'm amazed at how many jumped for mccain
so quickly..

Holy Moly... if Cheney came out for Kerry for VP.. there is some evidence many at DU would be drooling... How about a Kerry/Frist ticket? Kerry/Gingrich?

I've seen people talk about Kerry/Buchanan!

Kerry/Helms?

Jeez... talk about desperate.. people seem to think we have no one good in our party.

Edwards is a good guy, Clark, just as other candidates are two... not to mention so many others.

Democrat <--- Lets stick with them. That would be nice.
*slap* du'ers drooling over this puke.
