I beg of everyone to quit slamming "real" Kerry Supporters...

"real" Kerry Supporters are folks like us whom want Bush out of office and KNOW that being mean won't help.

They are running a respectable campaign and we need to get behind them in order to get Bush out of Office.

There are some "pretend" Kerry Supporters out there who get more satisfaction from being mean than actually helping Kerry get elected. As a matter of fact, If Kerry lost, these "pretend" Kerry Supporters wouldn't care, because being mean was more important than Kerry winning,

3. Thanks for your post - I appreciated it - here's how I see it
Dave you are on to something and I have felt that for a long time. . .there are very few "mean" supporters of any of the candidates if you look at the numbers. However they are active, like to agitate, like to make people mad.

Some people are just like that - they get their kicks making people mad.

But I have no doubt that some percentage (small) are actually agitators (paid?) whose goal is to "Divide and Conquer" - to split the dems. . .to divide the Dean camp and the Kerry camp and Edwards and DK and AS supporters to acheive the goal of four more years of GWB.

Lastly, I believe that one of the effects of that "Divide and Conquer" strategies is to oversensitize the "real" supporters so that they are drawn into battle w one another. the "real" supporters sometimes turn nasty because of the divisiveness sown by the "divide and conquer" group.

I see that again and again, and very clearly yesterday in a battle between a good Kerry supporter and a good Dean supporter. Fundamentally they agreed, but they were fighting because they had been worn down by the mean ones.

It's just a coincidence that some of them react exactly like a bunch of hate filled, psychotic dittoheads. And even more of a coincidence that they all showed up right after Mush started advertising DU on his show.

7. Yes, some Far Longer, and some more recent. Definitely looking like some
"payola" going on, because most folks don't have the energy to spend all day on DU posting where they bait and harrass, just enough so they don't get deleted, but enough to cause others to feel "out of the mainstream" and therefore leave DU or just not counter their baiting any more.

This is what's happening. And it has to be calculated for it to be this noticeable. Divide and Conquer. Spread disinformation and then retract it, but drop something in the retraction which plants a seed for more disinformation.

Maybe not paid disruptors but without any doubt some who would never vote for Dems and a small number of Dems who are well...complete dicks on these boards (on all sides though).

11. thanks for posting this thread. i think you hit the nail on the head.
there's some serious nastiness going on and it's quite disruptive. I don't even feel like posting as much anymore. the real discussions seem to be getting fewer by the day. and at the end of each day, there must be about 4 pages of threads alone! it's unruly.

there is so much divisiveness and petty melodrama, it's hard to believe some of these people are REAL democrats.
