I hope Kerry picks a running mate soon
so ludicrous threads about McCain being his VP will be forced out of business. We don't need these outrageous rumors, designed to undermine our Democratic unity, being spread on DU. Call me p.o.'d.

1. When?
I forgot when Lieberman was selected. Wasn't that in July or August? When are VP candidates normally selected? When is it too late for Bush to ditch Cheney?

3. I don't know. I never thought there were any rules, or customs.
But obviously the Pukes are trying to promote this notion of McCain to undermine our morale. McCain is a * toady. He'll hint at anything that might help his boy steal another one.

5. I think this whole McCain thing
is a shot at Bush. After all, he practically endorsed Kerry. If that won't make Rove explode, I don't know what will.

6. That's an interesting point.
But I would like either Kerry or McCain, and preferably both, to clear it up, by stating emphatically that McCain won't be the VP nominee.

11. McCain did clear it up later
His spokesman said he will not be a veep candidate in 2004 (that would include being on the GOP ticket, too).

13. Good. I'm sure Kerry never entertained that notion for a second.
Although I can see Naderites and Pukes trying to push the idea that he did.

9. I agree
It was a shot at Bush and a subtle endorsement of Kerry.

Everyone just chill.

On the other hand, I hope he picks his VP sooner rather than later because I'm really getting sick of the crazed speculation.

12. It's starting to make me crazy.
Plus, I think a duo on the campaign trail would be even more awesome than Kerry alone. Then the VP nom could start demanding one-on-ones with Hallibutton Dickshit.

2. I hear where you're coming from on this
but I still think we should wait until the convention for any announcements of such a decision & maybe even wait until then to make the decision.
Can't let the media whores drive the process, which is what the effect is if the decision is made in order to squash rumors.

Plus, it is a real important decision. I still can remember the debacle surrounding the Eagleton selection in 1972.

4. Well, then I hope Kerry states loud and clear that he WILL NOT
pick a Repub for VP. Nip this in the bud. He doesn't have to mention McCain, just make a statement that his VP will be a Dem. Could even be in the form of a humorous quip or something of that sort.

10. McCain is using us, to make his endorsement of Bush more important
That is all it is. If we want a Republican we already have one who was in the primaries...Why would we take a slacker like McCain who like George Hoover played around at the Point and finished next to last in his class,WE already have a doctor and Edwards who finished 4 years of School while working and then Law School. we have Gep. a Lawyer and Congressman..Clark who graduated from the Point first in his class. Sharpton , who I would like to see debate Bush of course that isn't possible since the candidate is Kerry...Now why in the world do the republicans think we need a anorther slacker like Bush.

17. Say anything politically about McCain you want
but don't call him a slacker, & don't compare him to Bush.

McCain did not go to West Point, & he is 1 of Kerry's closest friends.

Learn something about the man before you post garbage.

I mean you got the Naderites on the left and the McCainites now on the right (and of course even more extremists around too), and meanwhile we just want to get that Bastard outta the WH! Can't we pick someone in the middle and just do it!

19. No way. Not a chance on God's green earth.
Bush is more likely to choose Ralph Nadar as a running mate than Kerry is of choosing Dean.

part of me wants it over and done, but waiting to the last moment is probably good strategy.
