Are the Clinton Supporters here on DU complete HERMITS?
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 09:31 PM by Labors of Hercules
Are you not paying attention to the way THE PEOPLE are responding to Barack Obama? If we MUST take back the White House in November, we need a completely magnetic personality with ROCK STAR QUALITY, and GUESS WHAT... WE'VE GOT ONE!!!!

24. Please ... Hillary's negatives are so high ...
she wouldn't get elected dog catcher outside of NY. The GOP is fractured right now, with the money-grubbing capitalist bastards pissed off that Romney is out; the bible-thumping-snake-handlers are mad that Huckabee isn't going to win; and the assorted odd ball right wing fascists of the Rush Lamebrain/Sean Handjobbity strain heads are exploding because a guy they HATE (McCain) is about to be the GOP nominee.

The only person who can unite the GOP is Hillary. And they will come out in droves to defeat her.

But even if she did win, you'ld have DLC poster boy Bubba running the show, and Hillary Haliburton would still drag the Iraq war on for as long as her monied benefactors tell her to. So it really won't matter if Hillary beats McCain or if McCain wins. Innocent Iraqi children will continue to die, along with American soldiers. And I think the only way we prevent a war with Iran is to elect Obama.

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the shoot first, ask questions later diplomacy of the past 28 years.

Vote Progressive. Vote Obama.

35. Anyone who thinks Obama would be tough to beat
in November is incredibly naive. First, the US is chock full of racists. Second, the repukes will be running an old white guy with a military background. DUers see McCain as a stale old warmonger. Joe and Jane Q politically uninvolved Citizen will see him as an experienced white guy who will keep them safe.

I was a die-hard Dennis Kucinich supporter, but I realize that being right 99.999999999% of the time won't get you elected President (Al Gore knows a thing about that as well).

You cannot underestimate CHARISMA. Obama is simply a LIKEABLE guy. Hillary isn't even well liked by her own staff, or that of Bill's White House.

He had a way of appealing to middle america that made his outrageous, far-right Nazi-loving, race-baiting, hateful policies seem acceptable to a good majority of the population.

Wouldn't you like to see a president who could similary make rational, progressive, populist, idealistic policies acceptable to a vast majority of the population?

The "anti-Reagan", you might say. Something Bill ran as, but abandoned to advocate for such republican touchstones as free trade, welfare reform, and corporate deregulation. I have a little problem with a return to the 90s, and getting THAT again.

they're ready with or without him.....this electorate has been fed up with rethug policies for a long time now...the last midterm elections were just one small sign of that...the wish for change predated Obama

but guess what???? the US wants REAL CHANGE

they don't just want to hear the words "change," or "hope"

they want the REAL thing.....

Obama has not yet articulated WHY he wants to be president....let's hear him explain

the problem with Obama is he has a very thin record even to get re-elected to the Senate, let alone the presidency

if he had a strong track record, i'd be more confident, but he doesn't

i fear anyone who displays any messiah tendencies, and so far i'm seeing some

60. *Cult of Personality! Cult of Personality! Cult of Personality*
As a former supporter of John Edwards and troller of these boards who never bothered to register until now, I find it increasingly distressing that Obama supporters focus on personality instead of cause (John Edwards). You narrow in on a regurgitated vague message of change and hope (and some even chant it freakishly) -- without regard for details or whether or not his message actually does represent change.

The fact is that Obama doesn't represent change. He's a political pragamatist by any sense of the word. He's 10 votes away from Hillary in the Senate for God's sake! And I'm sorry he's not the messiah either.

You guys disturb me!

69. You're parodying Obama supporters, aren't you?
I think you should have put the ROFL figure in your message so we'd be sure you were joking.

70. He isn't a rock star to most Repukes and many non-liberal independents
Remember, these are DEMOCRATIC CAUCUSES AND PRIMARIES. The electorates are only voting for Democrats and consist of overwhelming percentages of Democrats. The general election electorate is vastly different. Black voters in Georgia, Alabama, Missisippi, Louisiana and South Carolina will be on the losing end in November as vast numbers of whites vote Repuke. States like Utah, Idaho, Nebraska, Kansas will not vote for ANY Dem, whether its Barack or Hillary. Small Democratic caucuses will be a memory.

And after a general campaign of being inundated by Repuke attacks, and having his entire adult life nitpicked and invaded, Barack won't be the same candidate he is now.
