There will be no third party. There will be not staying home.

The next President will put two or more justices on the Supreme Court.

President McCain would make us slaves of the conservative right.

Got it?

5. All DU'ers should vote for the nominee, but the convention should realize
that HOW the candidate is selected is also of critical importance this time. Both "historical" candidates have many passionate supporters. They need to understand that whichever one of them loses, it was not the result of some back room deals.

11. I just can't imagine becoming a "cult" member. I think the Clinton
cult meme is really going to come back to bite them.

9. Be a good German and line up? I'm sure you can do better than that.
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 08:32 AM by JTFrog
Hopefully there will be a candidate worth lining up for this year. If not, I'm not sure there will be much of a party left to line up behind. The differences sure have gotten blurry lately.

12. Most likely true.
The only caveat is:

I promise to support the nominee, whoever he or she is, provided they win the nomination fair and square, as a result of the people's vote and not some back-room political elitist deal-making.

13. think of it this way: will you help defeat the candidate endorsed by George W. Bush or not?
The only way to help defeat the candidate that will be endorsed by George W. Bush is to vote for the Democratic Party nominee -- whether it is obama or hrc.

There are no in-betweens on this one.

14. The only "in-between" for me is that this logic opens the door to those Democrats
who would pull any shenanigans to win the nomination, under the assumption that once accomplished all will be forgiven and the party will pull together.

I think the party will unite after the nomination, but I hate sending signals in advance that any tactic to secure the nomination is acceptable, because we will forgive everything after the convention.

In other words, I will "secretly" (I know "how do you do anything secretly by announcing it at GDP?) commit to supporting the Democratic nominee, but will not do so publicly at this point for fear of sending the message that winning the nomination "at all costs" is acceptable to me. It is not.
