Clinton loses a Super Delegate.
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/newjersey/ny-bc-nj--delegates-nj0208feb08,0,5374058.story

NEWARK, N.J. - Recent remarks by Hillary Clinton and former President Clinton prompted one of New Jersey's superdelegates to reconsider her support of the former first lady and move to an undecided status.

Clinton still retains a commanding lead among the state's so-called Democratic superdelegates _ members of Congress and other party leaders who are not selected in primaries and caucuses and who are free to change their minds about whom they support...

Didn't see this today. Sorry if a dupe.

28. Obama won Montclair, her town
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 01:59 PM by karynnj
Not to mention if you read the article of the delegates they reached they were 12-1 Clinton and 3 undecided. (4 not reached)
If they split like the state, Obama would get more.
http://www.montclairtimes.com/page.php?page=16696

Monclair is one of the cooler NJ towns, quite close to NYC. (Irrelevant fact - it was the home of the real family that the book "Cheaper by the Dozen" was based on was from.)

4. This stuff just cracks me UP!
Any "committed" Super Delegate is vapor.

The Super Delegates can change their mind at any moment--up until the last minute
of voting at the convention.

Anyone who counts these "pledged" SDs is desperate and is manipulating the system.

Let these poor SDs be.

They will fall in line, and vote for the candidate who has won the most delegates, at the
end of this long race.

For the love of Pete---if I was one of these SD's, I'd be telling these chatty, cajoling
weasels to stuff a sock in it.

5. The writing is on the wall...
I would not be at all surprised to see more follow suit in the coming weeks.

Barack will have the most elected delegates at convention and the party as a whole knows what will happen if Clinton gets the nomination based on the decision of what the average voter sees as a group of elitists.

6. It won't happen, and do you know why?
Because if Barack Obama gets more delegates, and Hillary wins because the Super Delegates
decided that "We The People" need parental controls over them--deciding for them, then our
party will be torn to shreds.

We will NEVER unite under Hillary and she will NEVER be elected or beat McCain.

She needs the Obama supporters to be elected. She can't be elected, if she and her committed SDs
circumvent democracy and the majority of Dem voters.

And it's not just the votes. The media won't put up with this bullshit. Many in the Dem party
won't allow this to happen. Our party will be torn to bits and there will be no party to get
behind any candidate.

It will take some time for reality to sink in. Hillary Clinton thought she was inevitable for
years. It's now becoming apparent that she will most likely not garner the most delegates.
I think we need to give her some time to process this and come to terms with all of this.

20. If she earns the votes she should be the nominee
And if the party is torn to shreads, it will regroup eventually. I mean, it wont be lost forever.

15. Obama supporters need to start button holing the superDs: see post 16
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 12:50 AM by TexasObserver
If you have a Democratic senator, they are a superdelegate.

If you have a Democratic rep in the House, they are a super delegate.

There are other superDs who are state officials, and others are DNC members.

Find out who the people are in your area who are superDs and put the heat on them. Let them hear from 20 Obama supporters a day for a week and see what they do. They are political animals, and they care about their own hide, not Hillary's. If you let them know you're watching them and will hold them accountable, they'll fade in the heat. They ain't heroes, they're survivors.

What an ignoramus. Changing her mind because of the 'fairytale' comment. How stupid does someone have to be to still have that taken out of context and actually have it let them change their vote? Obviously, there is no threshold of intelligence required in order to be a superdelegate. Friggin moron.
