3. Of course. Who the fuck wants to end the war that way? Dangerous and drastic, and the
third rail, politically.

4. so did Hillary. She has called it "supporting the troops". So has he. But she voted to start the war
and he did not.

Your turn.

(oh - that's right - she was too stupid to see that bush was lying to start the war - if on;y she knew then what she knows now.... :eyes: )

13. the IWR didn't "start the 'war'"
Bush started it using a loophole in the War Powers Act which allowed him to commit troops for a time before informing or getting approval from Congress. The WPA was put into the IWR to make the resolution look like the trigger.

But, Bush basically ignored the provisions in the IWR which mandated restraint, like, the exhaustion of all peaceful means (did he?) and the return to the U.N. Security Council before taking military action to enforce the U.N. resolution (he didn't). To suggest that Bush was merely following some authorization from Congress to pull inspectors out of Iraq before they were finished, and preemptively and unilaterally invade and occupy Iraq, is an amazing apology for the lame-duck militarist.

In fact, the funding was the first opportunity Congress had to approve or disapprove of Bush's tyranny. NOTHING in the IWR prevents Congress from doing their job and refusing to fund his occupation, at ANY time.

14. He voted to fund the troops, already put in harms' way
by a bunch of soulless assholes who put them there in the first place.

Which was, still is, and will continue to be, a MISTAKE.

Are you that dense?

15. I can't argue with funding the troops, once a war is already started.
So if your point is to get people to be against him, I think you're failing.

I probably would've voted the same way, even tho I thought that starting the IW was insane!

Remember....Obama TRIED to convince Billary not to vote for the war. But she did, anyway.

21. It's hard to keep up with Billary's position on anything. It changes so often. As for funding....
I can see it both ways, actually. This is a non-issue for me (and most people, I would think). A reasonable argument can be made for....and against funding.

19. Elixer, sadly not many care here. He wouldn't have even shown up to vote had he been in Senate.
He was too busy to even show up for Kyl-Leiberman,
