In 2002, Helms introduced legislation opposing the International Criminal Court which Bush had been seeking. It was called the American Service Members' Protection Act with the chief sponsor Jesse Helms. This went almost unnoticed in the US media. The purpose of the law was to bar any and all cooperation by the United States with the International Criminal Court in the Hague. The particular reason was to prevent any US Service Members from being charged with war crimes, including supposedly our glorious Commander-In-Chief. The law was later changed in the House and passed and signed by Bush, but without the particular version sponsored by Helms which had the support of Hillary Clinton.

The Helms version had 21 Democratic Senators voting against it (the same 21 who voted against the IWR?) and the rest of the Democratic traitors voting in favor of it including Hillary Clinton, but it later died in the House and was changed for Bush to sign. Hillary voted for a bill that would have cut off any military aid to non-NATO countries that ratified the treaty creating the new International Criminal Court in the Hague.

And most outrageously, the bill Hillary voted in favor of included an amazing section called “The Hague invasion act,” that authorized the President to “use all means necessary and appropriate,” including invasion by military force, to free US personnel and their allies held on war crimes charges at the court in the Netherlands.
