Progressives are not served by Shusters suspension.
I count a grand total of 3 progressives on TV, KO, Shuster and Rachel.

With Schuster out we lose a powerful voice for exposing the flying monkey right and the Bush crime family.

DU should lead a campaign to have him reinstated.

1. The right wing wins this round by getting rid of Schuster
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 08:30 PM by dmordue
while they do everything they want over at Fox. Get used to seeing even more of Buchanon, Tucker and Scarsborough. I'm going to have to find another news channel.

5. He said Hillary pimped out her Daughter, plus a phallic comment!
He wanted to stuff his "mike" in her face!

FUCK HIM!

Get his ass fired!

9. He said that the Clintons were "Pimpin out Chelsea" which was a stupid thing to say.
But unlike the long laundry list of horrible statements by Fox asswipes that resulted in bupkus, Shuster gets canned.

3. No. He deserved his suspensions. He should be under suspicion
and made to understand that his selective use of his "benign" term of "pimping" is unacceptable by Democrats. Period.

If you can't bring yourself to be a feminist, you don't belong in the Democratic Party. Go find yourself a home with the Republicans. They love your stuff!

6. Progressives are not served by sexism. If the remark had been
made about Mrs Obama everyone would be screaming racism. What would Shuster's fate have been then?

Try a little honesty

25. Why must you always shout & be obnoxious.
You do your candidate no favors, only make many of us more turned off to her. Your behavior is a constant reminder of the things we DON'T like about her. Like how unpleasant and callous she can be. But you just keep on going with your Klassy self.

28. Like you have any room to talk.
And I've already commented on the Shuster thing in a couple threads. I think it was appalling. I'm glad he apologized, but I do feel he deserved his suspension. Maybe next time he'll think before saying something like that again.

10. What if it would have been said about Romney's sons?
still sexist and worthy of suspension? Its a term applied to using a male or a female.

8. Maybe it's me, but today is the first time I've read that Shuster is "Progressive"
Bizarre, isn't it? I'm sure it wouldn't have anything to do with his pimp suspension, but who am I to question it?

14. Stop being coy
Shuster was one of the few voices in media who called Bushhitler on his many many crimes.

For a moment take your primary glasses off and consider that with shuster on the sidelines there is one less voice on TV to expose the Bushies.

16. Perhaps I haven't been touched by Shuster's progressivey appendage.
I don't have MSNBC on my basic cable, so I don't watch it all the time. Other progressives in the media - like Olberman - I've heard plenty about him. Shuster? Nada (until today).

11. You are absolutely right!
And even though I know Hillary will make the best president, being offended by a silly offhanded remark like this is a bit Nixonian. Let's leave this hyper-sensitivity to repukes like McCainiac.

15. the clintons are anti-progressive,
so this is a "win" for them.

it's hollow though, since obama also is not a progressive.

18. I think this is what the clintons wanted
since msnbc wasn't towing the clinton line. yes what he said was wrong but not bad enough to lose job over or make keith have to do what he did. I turned the tv off, couldn't stand it.

24. Thanks
I wonder exactly when this decision was made. The on-air apology that someone linked to showed a serious Shuster, but not one who looked like his job was in peril. I guess it was taped before the suspension. I also wonder how long the suspension will be, and why so little detail about it is being offered.

21. progressives are NOT served by ignoring such reprehensible language from a talking head
We get enough disrespect from everyone else. If he's *such* a progressive he never should have made the comment in the first place.

27. It wasn't professional or right for that matter to say what he said;
however, we've all said stupid things. He spoke before he thought. Unfortunately, his words were broadcast to the world.

I hope they reinstate Shuster; he's an excellent reporter.

31. You're right. He's generally a truth teller. But this needs some sort of reprimand
I also think they should do the same thing to Matthews, who is despicable in this regard.

And Russert

And the guy who allows it all to continue, Capo Capus
