9. I see your third and raise you a fourth
Its a thinly veiled attempt to enforce a loyalty oath, and since we know the mods keep track of how people vote, its a potentially harmful trap.

17. No, it's not. It's anything *but* that. Quit being as paranoïd as the freepers.
Check my posting record. I never supported the two (three) remaining candidates. Check my OP. I only asked a question.

20. Doesn't matter.
your intentions could be honorable but people banned regardless.

I'm only trying to warn people to think before voting in a poll that could have dangerous consequences.

is that ok with you?

Please, don't. :)

I'm trying to warn the unwary that their votes are monitored and potentially used against them. I"m doing a service to every DUer.

23. That's why I've stop voting in polls like this.
Not accusing the OP of any ulterior motive -- I just don't want to run the risk of my vote being used against me in the future.

What else?

I'm sorry if these kind of polls have been done before. I haven't seen them, ok? So if you don't like them, avoid them.

18. the problem is, DUers have been banned for simply voting in a poll
and your poll is engineered to get people banned.

It may not be your intention, but it could be the result.

that's why I inquired as to your intentions.

4. I never expected my candidate to be the nominee.
I was open to compromise. While I didn't really want to vote for any of the others, I left myself open to compromise with all but 2. That means I would have voted for 6 out of 8; 75 % of the original pack could have gotten my vote.

Unfortunately, none of them are left.

Except Gravel, of course, who will get my vote in my May primary if he is still there.

I don't know what I will choose to do after the convention; I know what I will NOT choose. I will NOT choose to vote for Obama or Clinton.

7. No shit
It's terribly sad that up to 20% of the people that post here are such fair weather Democrats. I understand the zealous nature of primary campaigns but when it's over I'll be supporting the candidate that wins the Democratic Nomination.

I think I have a lot of the "my candidate or the highway" pricks on ignore already but I'd like to get them all on it.

31. Why?
Per rules:

" Democratic Underground is an online community for Democrats and other progressives. Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office. "

"Democratic Candidates and the Democratic Party

Constructive criticism of Democrats or the Democratic Party is permitted. When doing so, please keep in mind that most of our members come to this website in order to get a break from the constant attacks in the media against our candidates and our values. Highly inflammatory or divisive attacks that echo the tone or substance of our political opponents are not welcome here.

You are not permitted to use this message board to work for the defeat of the Democratic Party nominee for any political office. If you wish to work for the defeat of any Democratic candidate in any General Election, then you are welcome to use someone else's bandwidth on some other website.

Democratic Underground may not be used for political, partisan, or advocacy activity by supporters of any political party or candidate other than the Democratic Party or Democratic candidates. Supporters of certain other political parties may use Democratic Underground for limited partisan activities in political races where there is no Democratic Party candidate. "

You do realize that there are other things Democrats are running for, don't you? Not just president, but for congress, local and state offices, etc. So long as a DUer doesn't use DU to work for the defeat of the Dem party nominee for ANY office, seems they can still post here and work towards getting other Dems elected (like for Congress or State offices).

Or do you feel that every DUer must actively support all Dem nominees (vs, not using DU against any Dem nominee)?

32. Yes tombstone everyone that disagrees with you. You may find yourself all alone.
Disagreement is what our party is all about. If you want to belong to a party that all agrees, become a republicans. Life is so much easier when someone else does your thinking.

19. Its real easy because my candidate is NOT the Dem nominee
Edwards

but I will support whoever wins the nomination and will do what I can to get them elected.

However, I will not endorse nor support a candidate until the time that they are in fact the nominee.

I have no horse in this race now and am just waiting for the winner so I can get behind them for the big race...

:woohoo:
